On top of that, the manufacturer only could have known my address under that original order, because the retailer actually redacted all my information on the documentation they shipped to the manufacturer with my laptop.

The reason I believe this is the fact that when I looked up the service order number I received in the email telling me that the repair was done actually led me to the original service order I created before contacting the retailer, after the manufacturer said they likely wouldn't repair for free.

I've been looking at the timeline of the repair of my laptop all weekend and it's honestly just keeps getting more bizarre.

Pretty sure the laptop was repaired under the voluntary manufacturer warranty and the retailer, who should have been taking care of everything, doesn't even know it's repaired

You know, I think what annoys me most about this whole saga with my laptop is the fact that, if the retailer had just honored my consumer rights, I could have had the damn thing back before the start of April.

Instead I had to wait for a full month and the retailer lost several potential customers

Me fighting for my rights and not giving up was actually worth it
