I highly recommend everybody get tickets to the All-Star Futures Game. They are dirt cheap on Seatgeek and an affordable way to get an All Star Week experience.

Took Colin to meet Phanta Claus today!
explained to my toronto-based friend who was on the blue jays hype train that baseball isn't about winning the world series, it's about coming close to winning the world series and losing and then spending the rest of your life nitpicking the moments that changed everything
The domino meme, where the small domino is "Bryce Harper tears his UCL in 2022" and the largest domino is "The Toronto Blue Jays lose the 2025 World Series"
I love baseball.
tbf I assume everyone on the internet is either 10 years older than me or 10 years younger than me and your vibe is more zoomer than it is xennial
Vladdy Jr
I am shocked to learn that you were born in 1991, I thought you were like 10 years younger than me
Also, I'm a bit jealous that my Toronto friend is experiencing the equivalent of 2022 but is probably going to see a win, but I'm also happy for them AND I want Vladdy to be a world champion
RIP Pierre Robert. Grew up listening to that guy. Philly legend. 🙏
Cal Raleigh calling his season where he won the Home Run Derby, hit 60 HR as a switch hitting catcher, won the AL West, and came within a game of the world series a "failure" is the kind of thing that Philly fans want their players to do.
That Ken Jennings rally time video and the Mariners magical run makes me miss Seattle so much. (I lived there for seven years...our marriage certificate is registered in King County.)
I’m no Humpy but I do have an unusually powerful “Rally Time” video.
The Mets spend more money than anyone and they didn't even make the playoffs with three wild cards. It's not about money, it's about the Dodgers having exclusive access to Japanese talent.
We should demolish it and salt the earth
I get that it wants to pretend to be golden age Twitter but I need an edit button....
I mean tbh I already do. Probably ranks last on my list of playoff disappointments the past four years.
1) 2023, truly choked I will never get over it my whole life
2) 2024, getting owned by the Mets sucks
3) 2022, lost to the better team but were right there
4) 2025, barely lost to the better team
I had to delete it bc I said 2024 again instead of 2025 and bluesky won't let you edit lmao

My stance is that a pitcher's duel is a lot of fun on television but terrible at the ballpark.
Brice Turang taking a potentially career ending pitch to the knee to tie the game? Maybe.
Brice Turang not swinging at ball 4 to tie the game? Definitely.
I've been off Twitter so long that I'm finding it difficult not to fall for obvious bait.
You would know better than me - I know it's mostly the time zone and lack of strong Japanese community, but could the boobird culture also be driving away Japanese talent? It feels like a very distinctly American thing.
Could see him as a Mariner (Geno is a free agent) or a Yank (I think he expressed interest in them) though the Mets might pursue him hard since none of their third base guys have worked out, they might lose their franchise first baseman, and his team in Japan (Yakult Swallows) are the Mets again.
Cannot stand the term "instant classic"
It's not even that the Dodgers beat the Phillies, it's just that dynasties are lame and underdog stories are fun
Anyway here's the Hunger Games cannon
I like the Cubbies but I didn't want them winning after starting 0-2 when we couldn't do it. Would've made me feel bad.
(They at least forced a Game 5.)
I will never get over 2023 as long as I live.
Every so often my mlb app will just randomly show me the final score of Game 7 of the 2023 NLCS, like it doesn't haunt me every day of my life already
honestly this year stings a lot less than last year to me. Last year they lost to our division rival who snuck into the playoffs, this year they lost to the reigning world champs with a pitching armada that we went pitch for pitch against and simply got outsmarted. It is what it is.
