Something Meaningful has a fishing minigame. I'm not proud of what I did.

I'm in the process of adding extra fishies to the fishing minigame.

When you catch a fish, it'll show up in the background scene, happily swimming around. Try to catch them all!

To make the mining more interesting, I've added a feature called 'Ore Surges'. But does it fit the game?

Let me know what you think! #indiegame #indiedev

Nice! Hope to get there myself one day. How long did it take you?

Yeah, it took me a day. It's also not very intuitive at times.

Starport Merchants - Player guidance: Opportunities! - Steam News Latest update adds a new element to the main screen: The Opportunities box will be dynamically populated depending on your current state and how you're playing the game. It can be safely ignored if you prefer to find your own way, but it can be a great way to get some guidance whenever you're not sure about what else there is to do. Happy travels!

After some more player feedback, I've added some more dynamic guidance so players don't feel as lost.

Give the demo a shot and tell me what you think! Always looking for more feedback. #indiedev

Starport Merchants - Introducing M.A.R.A - the ship's computer - Steam News Adding an improved tutorial

Some players have expressed some difficulties starting out and not immediately knowing what do. So I've added an interactive tutorial in the form of a ship advisor.

Also available in the demo. Let me know what you think!

At the start you'll be buying/selling stuff yourself, and as you get richer, more ways to automate stuff open up. Such as automated trading fleets, factories, etc...
You can still do things manually if you want. But the longer you play, more ways of getting passive income will open up for you.

Thanks! I'd say it can definitely be both, but it leans more towards optimizing your income flow. The roleplaying side is more visible at start, as you literally choose a starting role as a sort of specialization.

In time, more income sources open up and you'll want to expand into other roles.

Eternam (1992) #retrogames #DOSGaming

Anyone remember this one? It was a very unique adventure game. It had a 1st person view for walking around between locations but switched to a traditional 2d point-and-click interface in indoor locations.

My favorite one is the second one (Hugo 2: Whodunnit).
It featured a big mansion and outdoor area, a lot of fun to explore.
But there were some annoying reflex-based parts that I always hated.

Happy 40th to the NES!
VGMaps.com: The Video Game Atlas has >8100 NES screenshot maps!
Early on, I made this Maniac Mansion map, getting the attention of MM creator Ron Gilbert, who reposted it on his Grumpy Gamer blog, around the time VGMaps blew up!
