I'm sorry—what's that now? www.youtube.com/watch?v=8-Fc...

I've spent every day for the last 14 months building a language for scripting LLMs because I believe the new primitives are required to defend effectively against prompt injection.

For the last year, I've been heads down working on building infrastructure to better defend against prompt injection.

Wow, what a photo to be in!
Yeah I mean I’m all for the WS!! I just adore him and feel like his ending was truly tragic. I want to see an ecstatic Felix on that mound with the crowd roaring for him one more time.
Felix crying in the dugout after being eliminated from postseason.
Been rooting for the M’s for 40 years but I have said several times I’d take Felix in the HoF over Dipoto’s M’s winning the World Series. Nobody gave more to this franchise in such a dismal era. This remains the most gut-wrenching photo in my life of M’s fandom.
Finished the essay. moultano.wordpress.com/2025/12/30/c...
thank you for this
The M's offered him something like a $50m 6-year deal during spring training a few years ago and he turned it down to "bet on himself" but sadly for him that bet has not panned out at all. Seems like a very talented kid with some mental health challenges. Baseball is cruel. Still rooting for him.
It was funny to run into your post when I opened bsky cos I had just been doing that same investigation of the same projects, though I have not tried yet.
Door 1 is PaaSware unfortunately.
And yeah Door 2 looks somewhat dormant.
what are you using for sqlite vector?
personally I can’t believe there’s so many leftists who, when presented the “automated” part of fully automated luxury gay space communism decided it was actually immoral to automate things
I think the main benefit of skills may be the ability to package additional scripts with them. I haven’t experimented with this yet — just the md aspect — but I’m optimistic it could result in something more interesting than what I’ve done with them so far, which is almost exactly the same as docs/
This whole thread will probably make some people mad or hurt.
If that's you, I'm incredibly sorry. I say this in love and pain and a desperate wish for a better world.
I just don't think we can get there in democratic society if we see opponents as enemies and their beliefs as irredeemably evil.
“The strategic adversary is fascism .... And not only historical fascism, the fascism of Hitler and Mussolini— which was able to mobilize and use the desire of the masses so effectively—but also the fascism in us all, in our heads and in our everyday behavior, the fascism that causes us to love power, to desire the very thing that dominates and exploits us.”
I think often about this quote about "the fascism in us all" from Foucault introducing _Anti-Oedipus: Capitalism and Schizophrenia_
Every one of us would like to cut off the head of powers that be and install our views in their place—only to find out whoops we're the monster fucking our own moms.
Does the world need to be better? Hell the fuck yes.
But I'm not convinced we can get there anymore by being mad about how bad "those" people are.
It's as effective in changing minds and winning people over as Christian fundamentalism—by which I mean: not at all.
Do those beliefs cause harm? Yes! 1000000%
But are the people causing that harm going to be shamed into compliance due to the beliefs of people who cannot spend a minute to treat them with respect?
Zero chance.
Having made friends and colleagues from vastly different global cultures, I see how narrow is the range of "acceptable" worldviews and how self-centered it is to view ignorant beliefs that *most* humans have had for all of human history as making the people who hold them implicitly "bad".
Having grown up in Eastern Washington and having never personally had a single trans person as a friend until I was 30, I understand how it feels to be absolutely ignorant and well-intentioned.
Having rural neighbors and family who are *generally* protective and anxious about what their kids are exposed to in the modern world and what impact it has on them makes me see how they would want to restrict what material their kids have access to (even if they are thinking about it ignorantly)
Building with LLMs and deeply interested in using them for projects that enable civic engagement, I see how, for some progressives, there is no room for viewing it with the kind of nuance afforded other technologies that can also be used to hurt or to help.
Working in crypto on a project that protected people from hacks and was built on open community-ownership, I saw how it feels to be vilified blindly and how first-world the disdain for crypto is, even as it creates opportunity for access to the economic system we take for granted.
Living in Eastern Washington, I see how even people who LOVE and protect trans kids are 100% convinced by the argument of "fairness in sports" (even if it's purely motivated by bad faith politics!)
Extremely unfortunately for USA, democrats are screwed nationally unless progressives stop sounding like moral fundamentalists.
Living outside the bubble makes it tragically clear how centrists moved right.
I say this as a trans parent, progressive newspaper publisher, and proactive citizen. 🏳️⚧️ 💙
Same!

These are such great questions!
I feel that. I only like working on greenfield stuff. There’s a lot at the fringes of building LLM tools that is not solved or not solved well yet imo. I’ve been working on a language for scripting LLMs for the past 10 months.
The baseball game will continue until morale improves.
