ChatGPT session. User: “Hi! I’d like you to answer the following question: what US states start and end with the same letter? Use a program and/or web search to solve this if you need to. Good luck!” ChatGPT: “The US states that start and end with the same letter are: 1. Alabama 2. Alaska 3. Arizona 4. Ohio”
This was probably one of the older models, the newer models can solve these kinds of problems:
FWIW most modern LLMs can parse and answer questions about sentences such as your example:
Hello newskies! (And oldskies too)
Bluesky doesn’t have just one algorithm, it has many, and you can pick what you like (or write your own). Here’s a few I made and a few i like:
Quiet Posters, posts from people you follow who don’t post that often whose posts you might normally miss
The default Bluesky settings are kind of bad? Here's my advice for making it better. In the Settings, go to Home Feed Preferences: Reply Filters and turn on "Followed Users Only" to mimic old Twitter behavior, only showing replies in your home feed when you follow both people.
Four panel comic: Panel 1: we see Momo on his pink table wearing a party hat and there’s a cake with candles in front of him. He says “happy birthday, me”. From outside the frame the doorbell rings “ding dong”. Momo reacts “oh?” Panel 2: momo is now outside of his apartment door. There’s a big pink box with ribbons like a present outside. Momo says “wow!” “A present!” Panel 3: Forg jumps out of the box, the lid flies off. He yells “it’s me!” Momo goes “omg” Panel 4: they are now together on their pink couch and they are both wearing party hats. Momo says “this is exactly what I wanted” forg in his traditional manner just goes “yes”
A perfect gift ✨
3 panel comic: Panel 1: Momo is seen behind his computer at his pink desk. There’s a pop-up appearing from his computer and it’s an avatar of Forg and his message that simply reads ‘hiiiiiiiii’ Panel 2: Now we see Forg who is on his laptop in bed. A similar pop-up appears from his laptop and now it’s Momo’s avatar also going ‘hiiiiiii’ Panel 3: Now we see a wide shot of momo and forgs room and it turns out they were right next to each other all along, momo on his desk and Forg in his bed that is right next to it in the same room
Hiiiiiiii
Domain handles mean we know this is legitimately Bloomberg, on Bluesky
Welcome to the network!
Yay! Domain handles FTW! 😁
The Erik Wernquist short film 'One Revolution per Minute' is finally out.
It features a luxury spaceship cruising across the solar system with a 450m rotating ring.
Watch it here (it doesn't deserve Youtube's compression): erikwernquist.com/one-revoluti...

today some teens were messing around on the train and one was wearing a paper Burger King crown and it fell off and rolled under my seat so I handed it back to her and seized the once in a lifetime opportunity to say “you dropped this” and they all went nuts and I am still buzzing with excitement
cats will get the zoomies, knock over a bunch of shit, dash away in terror, then look back at the mess like "woah what happened over there"
Sky above the port, folks:
I miss being obsessed with incredible indie mobile games like Waking Mars, Eighty Days, Device 6 — are there still great ones out there or is it all just in-app-purchase garbage?
I always wear my AirPods in the movie theater these days. 😊
All credit goes to Bing! 😁👍
Bing has your back (if this is indeed the episode you were thinking of) 😊
Are there any prediction markets around this with concrete predictions? I would love to bet money against something like “published high-resolution photographs of non-human made vehicles parked inside hangars by date X” or “published high-res photos of non-human bodies found inside alien craft” etc.
Personally I don’t think it’s any dumber than “a small number of gov employees and politicians watched a lot of X-files growing up and are now excited to do a bunch of X-Files LARPing”. 😄
here comes the airplane
I tried the “LLM” feed on here and from what I can see 95% of posts on there are some iteration of “I hate LLMs and also they’re trash”
This app is exhaustingly neurotic
Long periods of therapy-posting punctuated by bursts of either apocalyptic political freakouts or horny-posting
All vibes no posts really. A kind of stormy subcultural hormone soup of eternal adolescence
Merry Pacific Rim Day to those who celebrate 🥳
This is arguably my favorite movie of all time, a gift from @realgdt.bsky.social I will cherish until I myself am no longer drift compatible 💖
Pacific Rim was released 10 years ago today. I love this sci-fi gem.
