Ukrainian People's Republic was the anti-Bolshevik opponent of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic that eventually joined the USSR.

Didn't declare independence until after the Bolshevik takeover, though.
Yeah, notable that roughly five of Ukraine's current oblasts were never part of the Russian Empire.
December 1917 at latest.
I am extremely dubious there was a distinct Palestinian identity separate from a broader Levantine or just "Arab" identity (and religious identity was much more important than any broad Levantine Arab identity)
That doesn't mean Palestinians are fake. They have an identity *now*, obviously.
I don't understand why they didn't just do "NCIS San Diego". All you need is a few second unit shots of San Diego and you can mostly just have LA pretend to be San Diego.
Wallace's own closest states that he didn't win were South Carolina, Tennessee, and North Carolina, and flipping all three would throw the election to the House, but Wallace lost North Carolina by over 8%.
What? That's not right. Slightly over 1% more in Missouri, taken entirely from Nixon (which it wouldn't have been) flips Missouri to Humphrey, but I don't see what other state you can do that for.
I suppose you could just get an uber from South Station, though, instead of all the way from Providence.
Yeah, train makes total sense, though South Station to Logan on the T is a bit of a trek, I think?
I assume NCIS Los Angeles featured an LA based NCIS team running naval investigations in San Diego, the headquarters of the Pacific Fleet, for some nice symmetry.
Where was the office?
I'll note that there's definitely a lot of business travelers on the New York to Boston route on Amtrak
Yeah, the idea that a DC-based office is running naval investigations in Norfolk, the headquarters of the Atlantic Fleet, is so ridiculous.
If you want good geography (and little else) in a movie, have I got a film for you.
Wow, John Hannah erasure
Train is very cheap if you buy it well ahead of time. Less so if you wait till the last week (but that's true of planes as well, of course)
My sister's done it, and she's said it is *a bit* quicker (she lives in Virginia, so that might help), and maybe that's worth it for business travel.
But yeah, it really barely saves any time compared to the train if your New York business is in Manhattan.
I’d never really experienced it much before but holy shit now I know what people mean when they say the Golden Horde has a genocide problem
Maybe it's the wrong time?
Having a comedian is normal and the decision not to, made specifically to get Trump to attend, was a political act that hints at bias.
Should I change my screen name to "Doctor John"? That's not a thing that already exists, right?
Losing made him much worse somehow, and he was already very bad.
NEXT: Doctor Doom! I assume he will fall in love with Dagger and hate Cloak, like every other character in this comic.
These guys are like the Bizarro Circus of Crime, fighting for good.
Cleveland taking it on the chin, as usual.
Slick Jim update: he's actually referring to himself as "Slick"
I thought Mayhem was supposed to be a crazy revenge zombie. She's being very reasonable.
And Polish aristocrats ran Galicia.
Austria-Hungary wasn't really dominated by German ethnic supremacists. The Hungarian half was dominated by Magyar nationalists, and while German-speakers ran most of the Austrian half, they were mostly fairly cosmopolitan Bohemian aristocrats who were not much into German nationalism.
