I’m enjoying Maria Semple’s latest but oof, this particular bit of dialogue.
Posts by Rex Harrison as Abraham Lincoln
As an archer, I’m sad to hear it’s a discount sport.
Roman Day Off
I’m also 5’ 10” and am eyeing her weight with suspicion. It could be true!
Attempted to surprise myself and I think it’s closer to gullet.
I tried too many times and now I don’t know how I say it.
I also do a mix. Somehow it’s evolved so that my signature begins with a printed S (my legal name is not actually Rex Harrison as Abraham Lincoln) and my writing has a cursive S, which is probably sign of some kind of madness.
A photo of a Seattle street corner being all dramatic
Seattle looking dramatic last night
A notebook with a sketch of some quilt blocks.
So lost in this quilt pattern (and my unwise changes to it) that I had to break out the colored pencils to make sure it still makes sense. And also to check for accidental swastikas, a constant quilting problem.
A profile photo of a person with a spillby/ mullet / hockey haircut / ape drape.
Do you call this haircut a spillby? I swear that was what I knew it as in my youth.
(Photo found on the much-copied part of the Internet, I have no idea who it is or who gave them such a good cut.)
A bright orange quilt
Orange quilt: done! This one put up a fight but in the end I love it.

Let’s kill noxious weeds and tax the rich! If you want to tax the rich in Washington state, you should tell your legislators. The Balance Our Tax Code coalition has a handy Take Action page (balanceourtaxcode.com/take-action).
It doesn’t even say that rich people will move! Just that Dems are afraid they might!
It is perfect!
It might seem insincere but I have reminders in my calendar to invite so-and-so to breakfast every month, what’s-her-face to lunch every two months, etc. It’s too easy to let things drift.
There’s a long piece about him in the current issue of The New Yorker, and Ken Jennings made a funny comment about it.
Today my coworker said they needed stitches but they couldn't afford to get them so we set up a lil' station in the staff kitchen and learned how to use hemostatic powder, so, that's how things are going in the US right now.
You didn’t have to share that.
… in the end I am v happy with how things are. I now have functional vision at all distances, can legally drive w/o glasses, can go for a run w/o them. I might be able to dig out the brand name if you’re really curious.
