Holidays as an adoptee: Share something kinda vulnerable and adoptive mother then says "well if you want to feel MORE inferior about (insert skill) my cousin just took up said skill and made all this stuff."
Tell me again how holidays are about celebrating family and adoptees should be grateful...

Been MIA because of many reasons. Popping in to say 32 years ago I was displaced from my home, brought to the US to be raised by strangers, and expected to act as if everything is fine. Now I am in fear that I will be sent back to that same place from the one that supposedly "gave me a better life."
PSA: Outing a trans person without their consent is an act of violence, being condescending when telling a trans person not to be "triggered" when being dead named is heinous, and weaponizing a completely consensual relationship against your ex because they escaped your abuse makes you the WORST...
Did a non medical gender affirming thing over the weekend! First ballroom dance competition. Did waltz, tango, and foxtrot. Looking forward to next year! #ballroomdance #transman #queer #fredastairedancestudio #socaldanceclassic2025
My act of resistance today. Openly wearing my trans flag color tie-dye shirt for my pics used in the application to update my citizenship certificate. #transman #protecttranslives #resist #intercountryadoptee #adopteevoices #queer #immigrant #transracialadoptee #IndianAdoptee #FtM #IamACitizen
Just thought you'd like to know how important your work is currently in our ongoing advocacy. :)
I saw in the California Alliance for Adoptee Rights Facebook page that someone gave a staff member of the current person holding the Alameda Assembly seat a copy of YOUR BOOK! The staff member is potentially interested in supporting the issue, which means the same assembly seat could reverse this.
This is the text of California's Assembly Bill 390, from 1935, as amended. The new language will read "All records and information specified in this section, other than the birth certificate to be issued hereunder, shall be available upon the order of a court of record." The bill shows text to be stricken from the law. It previously read "...shall be available to no person other than the child, foster parent, natural parent, or upoin the order of a court of record." The "birth certificate to be issued hereunder" referred to the amended birth certificate that includes only the names of the adoptive parents. This text is from page 56 of the book "Growing in the Dark: Adoption Secrecy and Its Consequences" by Janine M. Baer (2004).
Today, Jan. 21, 2025, is the 90th anniversary of California's sealed birth certificate bill, the day it was introduced in the legislature.๐คฏ The good news is that adoptee activists are talking to legislators about a bill to reverse it. Here's an image of the 1935 bill. See especially lines 10 and 11.
First post here! I will primarily be discussing My experience as a trans racial adoptee from India, a trans man, and My Leather journey. And of course pictures of My cat, Cheddar!
