A male greater sage-grouse displaying at a lek

A male greater sage-grouse displaying at a lek

A male greater sage-grouse signals to the one female at the lek (dancing ground) that he's ready to rock and roll. The males gulp a large amount of air into a pouches (aka "chesticles) that they use for both display and noise making (a popping noise). It's a strange and wonderful event.
