‘Genocide, ethnic cleansing, mass punishment – all these descriptions still do not capture the lurid and varied ways in which #Palestinians in #Gaza are being killed: bombed in their homes, in their tents, burned alive in their hospital beds, shot while queueing for food and now starved.’ 🇵🇸🍉🇵🇸
‘’The people of #Gaza, including its older population, have been deprived of all they need to survive. More than words are required to bring an end to this conflict. The pervasive impunity that enables these atrocities and denies Palestinians their right to life must end." #AgeUKInternational
Innocent people, older people, whole families, children; hungry, starving, slaughtered. 🇵🇸 #FreePalestine

'Situation is dire' - BBC returns to Gaza baby left hungry by Israeli blockade www.bbc.com/news/article... the untold horrors faced by millions of innocent Palestinians & the anguish & pain of their families outside of #Gaza. #FreePalestine end the genocide and free the hostages too. #ceasefirenow
The voluntary sector does an awful lot which people believe, wrongly, to be state funded. If charities - which have been hit by all the cost increases affecting other businesses - go under, we are going to find out the hard way how much they actually contribute to the economy as well as to society.
A busy week @ageukbradford.bsky.social welcoming @dramirkhangp.bsky.social & @itvnews.bsky.social to talk with members of one of our groups about staying active & healthy at home, and also a full staff meeting to plan our work helping older people live their best lives across #Bradford District. 👍

Thinking today of the amazing women who have influenced my life, the challenges they have faced, the successes they have had & also the challenges faced by so many today. It’s 2025 not 1925 women shouldn’t be facing this.

A bird's-eye view of a former Auschwitz II-Birkenau camp showing a wide dirt pathway flanked by parallel rows of barbed-wire fences. Groups of visitors walk along the path, surrounded by the remnants of brick structures and barracks, now reduced to foundations. Green grass contrasts with the somber history of the site, as the path leads toward a guard tower in the distance.
Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers.
This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder.
Auschwitz took time.
With LGBT+ History Month approaching, if your work is planning events and you’re seeking speakers, I’d love to hear about opportunities😊

On #WorldAidsDay remembering so many of my generation who died too young & the amazing advances that now make treatment possible. People who are 50+ are the fastest growing group of people living with #HIV in the UK & still face so much stigma & discrimination. How will you help #EndHIVStigma?
