Spring at the Farmers Market😍

@jeskeets.bsky.social so Coach cites Magellan, Freud, Nietzsche ...when he is not whispering haikus... who would you be citing from memory out there on the island? What would be the #NoDunks inspirational words of wisdom? #survivor50
Talking about "Wäsche waschen" in German class and I told my students I grew up in the Midwest and we said "to do the wash" in my family (not laundry). They looked at me like they had never heard this. How common is this elsewhere?! #Regionalisms #AmericanEnglish
So grateful for our year-round Farmers Market. 😍

This was another great one! Thanks for sharing!
Speaking a foreign language with an accent is okay, because your accent is part of who you are and of your own culture.
"Something can be Linguistically simple but cognitively engaging"👏👏👏 @mmeblouwolff.bsky.social
A few years old but still SUCH a great interview!

@jeskeets.bsky.social Jeff doing impersonations! 😂 Ok #NoBuffs, let's hear your best impersonations of your favorite survivors, this season or any season. What do you got?
@jeskeets.bsky.social
Is this a new Buff fashion move? Did the #NoBuffs guys try this one out? @nodunks.com

This is presenting a new challenge as a German teacher. Although the article does say they know how to shift in register to more formal writing....

You know you're a Lang teacher when you watch this challenge with the paintings in #TraitorsUK & #TheTraitors and all you can think about is how fun this would be in class. Group 1 reads a description and acts out a painting, Group 2 gets a photo and has to match it to the original. #langchat
Thanks to Amy Simon and Hannah Holtschneider for editing the issue of "Holocaust Studies" on "Personal documents and ephemera" My article is now out: "‘These papers had too many memories. So I burned them’: Holocaust diaries, diarists, and their afterlives" www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
Oscar-winner Ryan Coogler recalling how a college writing professor pushed him to become a screenwriter & the possibility of #Sinners being taught in film curriculums someday:
“I have so much respect for professors…for dedicating their life to future generations & making sure their minds are solid.”
Who all is attending Central States this weekend? I'm looking forward to meeting other language teachers and getting some new ideas for the classroom! #CentralStates26 @cslang4all.bsky.social
Do you have a template?! Looks amazing but so much hard work!

looking forward to discussing truth and lies in Jurek Becker's "Jakob der Lügner" with students the next 3 weeks. An amazing work of literature. Day 1 we will dig into the complicated narrator and what it means to be a survivor storyteller.
A coworker took this from her apartment. I haven't seen a crowd this size before. Maybe the first Women's March? But it was much much warmer that day. ICE OUT OF MINNESOTA!
This week in German class: the scene in Babylon Berlin where the chief of police says that they need to suppress demonstrations to "protect democracy". Warns about "radicals" bringing chaos to the streets, increases police presence in left-leaning areas, & passes out guns to be used ag. civilians
inspired by @slayyypod.bsky.social friends to create a little "cheat sheet" for my intermediate learners. They always struggle with the "mir" idioms and I thought we'll focus on those next week. #teachGerman #DaF #langchat
