@jeskeets.bsky.social so Coach cites Magellan, Freud, Nietzsche ...when he is not whispering haikus... who would you be citing from memory out there on the island? What would be the #NoDunks inspirational words of wisdom? #survivor50

Talking about "Wäsche waschen" in German class and I told my students I grew up in the Midwest and we said "to do the wash" in my family (not laundry). They looked at me like they had never heard this. How common is this elsewhere?! #Regionalisms #AmericanEnglish

Speaking a foreign language with an accent is okay, because your accent is part of who you are and of your own culture.

Gen Z thinks capital letters are just 'too intense.' And a linguist agrees. It's not about being lazy.

This is presenting a new challenge as a German teacher. Although the article does say they know how to shift in register to more formal writing....

The Traitors milks art history A painting-focused challenge on the hit BBC series has caught Rakewell’s attention, and reminds us all of the pleasures of the Victorian tableau vivant

How fun would this challenge be in a language class? apollo-magazine.com/traitors-bbc...

You know you're a Lang teacher when you watch this challenge with the paintings in #TraitorsUK & #TheTraitors and all you can think about is how fun this would be in class. Group 1 reads a description and acts out a painting, Group 2 gets a photo and has to match it to the original. #langchat
