You're a better person than me. The first thing I thought when I heard the story was "well, there's one less manosphere bro to worry about for a bit, at least."

I hope the team fires him too.

He's not a journalist, a discussion on journalistic ethics doesn't come into play on his actions.

Again, I don't care that she's a woman. I'd call for a man doing the same thing unethical.

It's crazy how I've literally pointed out how we can solve that problem of men in football not being held accountable, only for you to say that it's a pointless exercise that we shouldn't actually care about.

All because you're bent out of shape about me saying that bad ethics matter.

So I take it you couldn't find me bringing up anyone's specific gender in this conversation, or trying to defend the man involved?

Seems like you're the one losing legs to stand on.

6 days ago 0 0 2 0

I didn't. Feel free to go back and tell me at any point where I said she's solely responsible in between crashing out and randomly pivoting.

It's really crazy how you apparently failed to read the thing you're replying to.

You want Deshaun Watson fired? Advocate for sports journalists that will do their f-ing jobs correctly and investigate him instead of pine for access or scapegoat their responsibilities by saying "it's just sports not real news."

You know, don't be hypocritical.

6 days ago 0 0 2 0

Yeah, and the reason that happens is because sports journalism continues to just be pushed further and further into "nothing but entertainment."

If you want sports journalists to hold people accountable for crimes, you should probably hold them to higher standards.

I haven't asked for anyone's firing here. I'm discussing journalistic ethics.

I don't have a problem saying both people would be justified in losing their jobs.

I literally could not care less about the gender of either of these people.

It's really insane watching you flounder here:

"Football is entertainment! The journalists covering it don't matter, it's unimportant!"

Thanks for proving my point, I guess.

This is such a weird take:

1. It is important. Ethics and integrity matter in every form of journalism. You can't claim to hold billionaire owners accountable in their communities otherwise.

2. Sleeping with a source is bad, regardless of the gender of the journalist.

We pay for their stadiums via our tax dollars. We have a right to know what the companies taking our tax dollars are doing with the money we save them.

I have been calling Deshaun Watson a rapist who should be fired for years now.

What random thing do you plan to try and level against me next?

You literally tried to roast me by giving an example of how it is relevant to real journalism.

Having a bunch of super rich athletes with the social and economic power to sweep poor behavior in the community under the rug is just one example.

6 days ago 1 0 1 0

You think I don't have a problem with that? This is another reason to have objective, uncompromised journalists covering these teams. Lest rich athletes literally get away with crime.

These teams play in stadiums funded by tax payers, and exist because people pay the NFL billions. People have a right to objective reporting on those teams.

Sleeping with a source is a really good way to not be an objective journalist.

I think it's bad for the President to threaten to annihilate an entire culture and i do not think you are being alarmist if you take his threats seriously and literally.

The new Gorillaz album is really good, which makes me even more sad to realize that my newly purchased vinyl of it is defective. Bad skips on A-Side. Womp womp.

Gee, it's almost like several angry Arab states were attempting to make that point to the U.S. back in the 90s.

I'll never forget back when Baby Bush invaded Iraq hearing local church leaders talking about how this was a wonderful thing because it meant Jesus would soon be among us. This is an absolutely correct statement.

One has to think that the play here is for chaos to reign in Iran or for Israel to play occupier. The U.S. only has 40k troops and no Gulf partners outside of Israel in this operation. If Khomeini is dead, now what? Looks like Syria 2.0.

I have a sneaking suspicion those hockey players are really regretting taking Trump up on that invitation for the sheer fact that they've been stuck there this long having to listen to shit they could not care less about.

That's a fair point, actually.

The theatre department at the university I work at is partnering with a local animal shelter to get some kittens adopted, and I got to make some portraits of them tonight.

I doubt it would help. Canada looks so slow compared to USA. They're just getting run off the ice.

A black woman has scored a goal for Team USA for the first time ever at the Olympics. Pretty damn awesome.

Team Canada is just getting bodied in this game against USA. At this point it's just for seeding, but I don't see how Canada doesn't come away nervous if this keeps up.
