I know my texture tests are working because you can almost mistake it for source engine now!!

since the original developer is no longer involved, we're not in a position to complete and because of that it has been cancelled.

i'm really sorry again for the wait and uncertainty around this

that looks so good! kinda funny because I just finished the whole cheatrooms path for the first time, it was weirdly nostalgic considering the kinds of games I've been involved with.. can't wait for habitation brown!

I am seeing this project through, no matter what it takes.

I am tired of losing track of what I am making, I will not allow scope-creep to get me this time, I have to focus on what I need to get finished more than the final vision in my head, I must let it evolve as I make it or it will burn

prototyping was a nightmare so i'm modeling every individual element for a modular level editor system for my game, not the most optimized but at least it can be cleaned up at the very end

if anyone is wondering what kind of visual style quantum-onyx is going to end up being, I'm aiming for something that feels like source engine, but has the fidelity of source 2 while also being very stylized in a realistic way, closest thing I can think of is mirror's edge

i've been dreading programming step-up mechanics for this exact reason [fully physics based controller so it's harder] but it almost works!

lots of small behaviors to fine-tune, but still insanely fun to play around with #gamedev

entirely rigid body based but ideally it should be a hybrid of the two

In essence I have a raycast out of the camera, when it detects a physics object I store their physical traits and make a copy where I modify the properties that have the potential to freak out, I apply forces [pos and rot] on a VERY stiff dampened spring, and if it detects edge cases, it lets go

updated the scaling to match 1:1 with source engine

took me an ungodly amount of time to get to this point because I had to re-write everything with physics as a primary factor...

but oh my god I did it, I actually did it, seamless player-physics interaction with perfect pickup rotations

today is a good day #gamedev
