No house move before Christmas. It’s proved too difficult to get the chain all in place to exchange this week.

Hoping that the upcoming week is the week that solicitors get their shit together and we can exchange on the house we’re buying.
Getting in for Christmas is becoming tighter
I assume that Ocado’s servers are set to UTC - which is good.
But it also means that since their big s/w upgrade, we’ve been getting SMS about our orders an hour after the shopping has been delivered.
Ah well, only another month and they can close the ticket as “cannot replicate”.
After a bit of negotiation, we’ve had an offer accepted! 🙌🏻
We’ve put an offer in on a house. 🏡 Send good vibes.
From what I’ve seen, they don’t believe that the pipeline is their problem to solve.
Fantastic day at the Oval on Saturday, watching the Invincibles set a new batting record! 🏏
Accepted an offer on our house yesterday.
Now we need to find somewhere to live! 🏡
Couple of hours later and the software update is complete.
Note to self - don’t start an OTA if you’ve got somewhere to be!
Tapped “ok” to an OTA for my car and now I’m stuck waiting for it to complete. Online forums suggest it can take 3 hours to complete.
Car is essentially bricked during the process. 😖
I’m picking up my new car this evening.
I’ve made the move from ICE to EV. ⚡️
Made it onto the ground at LHR. 🥳
Still trying to get back home from a business trip to Germany this week. 🇩🇪
Last nights flight cancelled due to the issues at NATS.
I’ve made it from Hamburg to Frankfurt. Next step is Frankfurt to London.
We’ve spent the last decade (or even more) getting people to think more holistically about productivity and impact, and then AI comes along and suddenly SLOC and PR count are hot metrics.
I’ve been doing some more coding with Claude Code this afternoon. Hit my Pro limits in 2 hours - and in the middle of a refactor.
Taking a quick lunch break in a day full of chores. Not liking past Steve too much today as I battle through all the jobs I’ve put off in 30c heat.
I find it very interesting that we decided LOC was a bad metric for measuring developer performance right up until the point that AI started churning out code.
“Look at all this code!”
The code generated by LLM coders is so, so.
But it’s good enough for personal apps. I’m building more and mor “helper” and one person apps using Cursor.
I have the misfortune of having to use #Office365 and OneDrive regularly. The office web experience now defaults to a LLM Chatbot interface, rather than bringing me to my files and applications. What the heck?
Forcing adoption of Copilot. 😔
Pretty sure that’s Mount Olympus in the distance…
My first thoughts on seeing that would be to check that the flight is actually delayed.
It’s over.
I’m cautiously optimistic for a better future under new leadership. Hoping that it’s back to the “Reading Way”.

Some very moody skies this evening in Greece. 🇬🇷
Busy week of travelling planned.
Montpellier during the week for work. 💼
And then Greece 🇬🇷 at the weekend to chill. 🏖️
So much sense for @anildash.com on the latest AI hype and the push from CEO for adoption.
If the technology provided as much advantage as claimed, workers would be self-selecting LLM to improve their work.

A morning of wins and losses…
Won £100 on the premium bonds.
Went out in my car, hit a curb, scraped my alloys and took a chunk out of the tyre.
What’s everyone’s take on “vibe coding”?
Except he didn’t actually say AI, he said Software. Code generators have been around for years to support development.
And “up to”? 🤔
It’s almost like he runs a co that has a player in the code generation market (GH Copilot) that he needs to sell.

I am so ready for the long weekend.
F. Think I’ve been caught speeding. 👮🏼♂️📸
