It’s sort of like when you release version 4.5 of your software library, you don’t want to instantly force everyone on 4.0 to upgrade.

Relatively recently, ChatGPT rolled out a new model, but forced all web users to instantly chat to the new model, and their users flipped out

My puppy is a cocker spaniel-poodle, and “cockapoo” is a pretty established term for this breed. But I still get raised eyebrows most of the time after being asked about what breed he is 🤨

🙋 I once flunked an interview where they asked me to implement an event loop from scratch.

This whole piece is a deeply thoughtful journey well worth taking, but the section about Miyazaki and Spirited Away is particularly salient.

I never completed the third round of coral tower so it’s really good to know that there is a shortcut after that; thanks!

I’m mostly having a better experience than what you are describing, but agreed about the difficulty. I noticed that upgrading from 5 masks to 6 isn’t actually helping much since at this point everything in the game deals double damage, so I’m always three hits away from dying.

AI 'deadbots' are persuasive — and researchers say they're primed for monetization The digital afterlife industry may near $80 billion in a decade, fueled by AI "deadbots." Tech firms see profit. But experts warn of troubling consequences.

“Something that might seem very crass and horrifying today [ads being fed to us by AI avatars of dead people] is not going to seem so farfetched or inappropriate once it becomes normalized and fairly common”

Hear me out—how about we DON’T normalize it nor make it common www.npr.org/2025/08/26/n...

Most experts acknowledge that a takeover by artificial intelligence is coming for the video game industry within the next five years, and executives have already started preparing to restructure their companies in anticipation.
After all, it was one of the first sectors to deploy A.I. programming in the 1980s, with the four ghosts who chase Pac-Man each responding differently to the player's real-time movements.

This is an insane thing to write about game development. www.nytimes.com/2025/07/28/a...

«Our fear of AI “damaging our brains” is actually a fear of our own laziness. The technology offers an easy out from the hard work of thinking, and we worry we'll take it.»

I started learning English as a kid when I discovered my parents’ stash of Peanuts paperbacks. I loved Charlie Brown, Snoopy and the gang, but I could not understand why they would have such a competition as a “spelling bee”. Of course, I was still only reading English and not speaking it 😅

My most boomer trait is that I don’t like seeing those social media image posts that are just large text. Sorry but if it’s not a meme, it should have been a text post. What made you think you are deserving of larger font than everyone else
