I’m taking a break from music - You may have noticed I’ve been quiet recently. I haven’t been working on new material quietly behind the scenes. I have been focusing my energies elsewhere.

We live in dangerous times, with far right politicians threatening everything we hold dear.

I do not want hundreds of thousands of friends and neighbours under threat of deportation, just because Farage wants to protect tax dodging billionaires. I want there to be a genuinely hopeful alternative and unless good people stand up, this won’t happen, so I am standing for election for the Green Party in Birmingham.

I will always love music and, if elected, I will champion the live music scene in our city and do everything I can to ensure there is a thriving cultural scene. I have realised that I can’t do everything. I still have loads of unreleased material, which might see the light of day some time in the future, but I can’t do that now.

Big respect to everyone who brings joy through music in whatever way and thanks to everyone who has listened to my music or supported me in whatever way as I tried to find a niche for myself and share my songs.
Peace and love

Joe

A little announcement from me. This may or may not come as a surprise, seeing as how I'd virtually disappeared from here anyway. I may be back one day...

The chances of Labour enacting socialist measures are roughly akin to my prospects of becoming a chess Grandmaster. It's always a theoretical possibility, but looks unlikely on the current run of results.

No way! I was just trying out the word groovy on my 15 year-old much to his confusion - "Have a groovy day!" Uh? Then I come on here and see the word on your record - what a coincidence!

Does anyone else still have recordings of gigs they played when they were 16/17 that they still listen to sometimes?

I get a lot less interaction now, too. I just haven’t found the music community engaging with this platform, sadly, so I have reduced my efforts in posting here.

No, I didn't take her to Australia with me. It was a woman called Emma Luker, who plays in Eric Bogle's band with my uncle Pete Titchener, who recorded it for me at his Folk House studio.

I can't take credit for that. I can play a few things but not those that need blowing or bowing.

In 2021, when Twitter wasn't a fascist hellhole, I met a lovely chap on there called @joeadhemar.bsky.social who offered to help me make my recordings sound less shit. I gave him this song and he did wonders with it! Released OTD 4 years ago Is not everything morbid? youtu.be/JlxD-TsqqDU?...

I'm in the same boat. I saw them a few times before The Bends came out - first time was supporting Kingmaker. No code for me, either.
