It's none of my business, but I can't help seeing him as some sort of homeless cat in a box or a sad street beggar. I really have to forget about this mess as soon as possible.

Can't risk losing such a convenient job, either. I feel awful for Erika helping me, though she probably won't blame me or anything... Should I cover a few of her shifts as a 'thank you'? Or maybe give her some sweets?
I don't like being overly polite or insincere for the sake of others. Also, not being a bother is one of my main principles. Today, however, I totally blew it all.
