You’re so right and you should say it!!
I honestly laughed at the end scene with Master Raymond and the song, because it felt like MBR going, look, I’m giving you all the answers, isn’t this brilliant? And… no it’s very much not lol. A change to the story that is completely devoid of meaning is not what we want.
Thank you for giving a meaningful glimpse of Claire’s grief 😭❤️🩹 (and that the show is unlikely to provide… 🙃)
Every word of this, but this part especially

“I feel like I haven’t… I haven’t been able to breathe for all these years now because a light had gone out from my life. And now you’re here. And you’re so much more than your mother or I ever could have dreamed.” There was something healing in the way Henry cupped her head in his palm and gently kissed her forehead. Suddenly, she was five years old again and remembering how it felt to have this wonderful man as her father.
Thought you might appreciate this one! 💜
Parents 👀
Yeah, “fuck” I definitely have 😂
Apparently not?? At least not in any wips lol
I’m good with this kind of angst 🫶
Held!
Perhaps it was the sun warming their backs at the end of a long journey or the gentle way her parents spoke of a long-held dream finally realized, but Claire stared up at the two-story farmhouse clad with soft yellow paint and she couldn’t find it within herself to hate it. Her mother, who had a keen sense for any weakness in Claire’s stubborn front, noticed this too. She was tugged gently into a hug as her mum kissed the top of her hair. “We’ll be very happy here.” It wasn’t so much a wish as it was a declaration — a claiming of the life Julia and Henry had worked and fought for over many years. “You’ll make lots of friends,” Julia went on. “And over there, we’ll plant a garden and it will be even bigger than the last.”
Okay I couldn’t find flowers, so how about “garden”?
