Death in the Dark Woods
by Annelise Ryan
When there’s something strange in Bigfoot country, who ya gonna call?
This cryptozoologist and co will investigate with a refreshing sense of logic and skepticism.

Looking back on my old YT vids with fondness, because at least then I was doing stuff, even if it was janky af and half the views are my own.
Carl’s Doomsday Scenario
by Matt Dinniman
Princess Donut and Carl take on the next level, quests and chaos aplenty in book 2 of DCC!
I’m in the camp of “the crazier the better” with this series. Where the first book was a great intro, this one sets up a lot for what’s to come. Gimme more!!
Part of me wants to take a step further and break out the colored pencils for these, but I worry it won’t be as satisfactory as I’d hope.
Gen 1 starters from memory.

Plenty of fun new Pokemon stuff to draw these days. The special character variations from Pokopia have cool designs.
“Somehow, Tahu returned [yet again].”
I’ll be there on release day…
At least this one won’t be too costly.
Dead Silence
by S.A. Barnes
Ghost ship in outer space, missing for decades, with riches aboard. It’s a recipe for disaster, and terror.
This is probably the closest I can get to reading horror. I powered through and didn’t dwell on it too bad because of how encapsulating the writing was.
How is the show so far?
Inferno Girl Red book 2 hardcover
As a proud proponent of the Massive-verse, I’m glad to have supported book 2 on kickstarter, and am definitely eager for more!
Burn bright!
Inferno Girl Red Book 1&2

The mantle of IGR is bestowed upon Cássia Costa when dark forces threaten to set chaos loose on her new home. It’ll take more than luck and power to be the hero the city needs.
The much-anticipated release of book 2 warranted a reread of book 1 for me.
Insignificant Others

Fun story about how choices, even of the smallest relevance, can make the difference between one life and another.
“Go full Serebii” is a wicked-cool line.
Artemis
by Andy Weir
Life on the moon is luxurious if you’re rich, and tough if you’re not.
The attention to detail and accuracy in a sci-fi environment is a huge draw to these stories. I can see why they’re critically acclaimed.
Sketch of an Exo-Toa facing one of the Bahrag.
Quick n dirty Exo-Toa vs Bahrag.
Multiple sketches of Tepig, Totodile, and Chikorita.

Stay Awake
by Megan Goldin
A fresh murder connected to a cold case, a couple of well-rounded detectives, and the prime suspect on the run has no memory of the past two years.
As wild and twisty as these mysteries can go, this one keeps up the suspense while also staying grounded.
Yeah, he’s an artist.
A con-artist.
The Midnight Library
by Matt Haig
A glimpse at infinite lives, and who you could become. Is it really the same you if you made different choices?
All you need is a change in perspective, though a little help would be nice. It’s hard to imagine the possibilities if you’re stuck in your despair.
The Last Commandment
by Scott Shepherd
A serial killer on a mission to rectify those who’ve sinned. An insane final case for Commander Grant to solve, hitting closer to home than he might realize.
Reading this after the following installment was actually pretty fun.
I’m pretty sure this was the first time I’d ever seen the Naruto run.
It’s complicated. The current alt-universe/spinoff is ending, but there are still one-shots and miniseries in the works. There is potentially a new main series coming, but the details are vague. And comics canon was always separate from show canon anyways, so…fwiw it’s still circling the drain.
It’s such a euphoric feeling when your script finally works, but everything until then is pain. No in-between.
Hidden in Smoke

LA is a high risk city for fires, so arson is not to be taken lightly. It takes a special kind of investigator to solve the case and ensure it won’t happen again.

Z-A starters and the OG mega evolutions.
Bottom line, if you keep an open mind, you’ll have a good time. A bloody good time.
On the other hand, Iron Lung deserves all the accolades and success it can get as a wide release, regardless of how it performs and rates. You can’t deny that this movie means something in this current industry.
Obviously I can’t be 100% unbiased, critiquing as a fan, but I do believe Mark’s acting has continued to improve from his previous projects. If anything felt out of sorts, I’d say it’s more an issue of the writing or pacing rather than the performance.
The visuals and effects, original score, sound design, and acting were great. There wasn’t any point where I felt this wasn’t a professional, quality movie.
The movie does a fine job of immersing you in the world, albeit through the confines of its main setting. It takes itself seriously through and through, and I felt the tension and weight of the situation.
It’s also a bit of a slow burn. So, like I said, lock in.
