I cannot handle medical dramas, so my husband is watching it without me. When it’s on and I’m doing something else I often find myself frozen in the doorway glued to it! I personally don’t want to watch it but it’s very compelling.

someone let my dumbass constituents know it’s actually my job to go on podcasts and getting pepper sprayed detracts from the mission
caught it yesterday as well and glad I did! loved your letterboxd review.
Sisqo? They live in Maple Grove and moved to MN because his wife had family here, but I can’t tell if she’s originally from MN.
me: surely I can’t love Prince more??
Lil Troy: "It was a blessing from God and Prince, cause he could have took all our rights,"
me: oh ok I can
Wanna Be A Baller samples Prince’s “Little Red Corvette” making it the perfect anthem for my two hometowns: Houston and Minneapolis.
“‘Prince gave us the OK, he loved how we did it. We ain't paid Prince a dime. He gave us props, he liked how we did it,’ Lil Troy explained.”
this reminded me I’ve been getting instagram ads for an FSA-eligible robotic litter box
no
the visitor center at Gooseberry Falls has a lot of info about the Civilian Conservation Corps camp there during the great depression and it seems so cool!
they built a bobsled track!
gotta hand it to Whole Grain Milling, their tortilla chips have been $5 for the past 15 years.
part of the key to @benoney.bsky.social’s professional success.
I tell him tales of being a woman in a predominantly male environment and he’s always so horrified lol
the article forest lake published says “ice off”, but the corresponding video says “ice out”
www.hometownsource.com/forest-lake-...
I’ve sort of been tracking this! (I have a lot of google alerts for “ice out” and the lakes)
to me it seems mprb went first and said ice off, mpr published an article with the headline “open water”, but largely articles about it are saying “ice out”
I can’t get over them cutting “declare ice-out” off the paper on their little white board! Also is there usually a pic with an HCSO officer but this year we only got the Freshwater people?
We're on strike! Don't visit propublica.org on April 8

“all’s well that ends well” mmm no i don’t think that’s true
it’s so infuriating how uncreative they are
For the last 6 months we have watched ordinary people put their lives at risk for their neighbors while the powerful retreat in cowardice. Just regular folks pummeled with chemical weapons and shot dead in the streets fighting for what's right and good.
There are heroes all around you. Find them
“One striking aspect of the last few years, especially since Trump returned to office, is that elites are often more timid and willing to surrender, despite all their power and protection, than a lot of the rest of us.”
I hate what we were forced to endure, but I am thankful for how clarifying it was regarding what I owe my community in an EMERGENCY.
I fucking hate this defeatist attitude. How can the senators of MINNESOTA be like welp, procedurally blah blah blah
do you remember how the urgency regarding ICE cut through so much bullshit here? and we all just acted on what we thought was our community’s best interest?
where is this
he’s an apostate!!!!! excommunicate him american pope!!!!!!!
or beat on the brat
everything we are seeing now is the consequence of having a political environment in which indifference to the deaths and suffering of other people - even by the state whose supposed responsibility is to safeguard their welfare - is a superpower rather than a political liability
Can't tell you how many members of Congress who *at best* had nothing to say when I asked about the Minab girls school attack. There is a profanely cold detachment inside Capitol Hill, a mode completely unrecognizable to common human decency I wish I could properly convey to you.
thank you for writing this, it’s really powerful.
I love this framing. Refusal works. We have agency when we refuse and it’s empowering to refuse. We strengthened our refusal muscles in MN against ICE and I’m going to
keep using them.
“And what’s particularly interesting to me is how the politics appear to be moving from rejection to refusal.”
that doesn’t ring a bell! I just looked it up and saw it was between Argonne and Revere, and was called J&N Coffee Shop for a while.
I love this sooooooo much.
Infinitely lucky to have grown up in Houston, specifically the Montrose.
I think much of the good in me comes from having been raised in Houston. It’s easy to love humanity when you’re raised around a mass of interesting and interested people.
also! I have a very distinct memory of people protesting outside the Wendy’s across the street from the Westheimer McDonalds after Wendy’s pulled their commercials from Ellen Degeneres’ show after she came out!
