Here are the facts

The new box art does not match the photo bashing of the Pixar Cars line (which I believe is already outsourced to begin with)

There is a consistent filter applied to all the new Thomas product. But discrepancies seem to come from what base render is applied

As someone who had asthma as a kid this was actually how I saw it at a young age

i think what gets overlooked is that part of the humor and charm of edits like these is that you're perfectly aware that someone sat down and spent their own time making it. they chose to do something cool or silly or stupid or genius, regardless of the results

that human element elevates the work

Legit I think if you took a CGI series character model, retextured it to match the changes from the toys (new colours or livery changes, drop shadow on the numbers, etc.) and replaced the face with a new one, you could get a pretty good idea of what the designs will look like in practise

Based on the toys, I'm guessing the 2026 series will reuse the existing CGI series character models but with new faces and textures to give them a fresh look (and the sets likely rebuilt from the ground-up using the existing assets like Arc had to do after taking over from Nitrogen)
