Maybe an AU - 3 times when KDokja tries to get YJH's attention, only once did YJH tried to get Dokja's attention (when Dokja is on the verge of dying).

Unknown to YJH was that KDJ had also found himself starting to in love with him, biting his lips hard enough to draw blood whenever he resists the urge to pull the human in for a kiss. However, a misunderstanding happens when he saw YJH 'crying' to LSH.

He finds his heart throbbing - a sign of the blue flame burning brighter than ever. YJH wishes for it to die down. And his wishes came true, his world crumbling down the day he saw KDJ with YSA - another fellow human. That was when he decides, it was best to leave the other man alone.

It was 'heart-breaking' to YJH that he eventually finds himself falling inlove with KDJ - who was oblivious about the human's feelings. One day, YJH decides to tell him the truth, wanting to find a solution before the OoE burns him alive, but decides not to. If KDJ found out, it would be too late.

There are three rules as follow: "The demon will follow said human's order without fail, the human and demon are not to hurt each other unless neccessary, and last but not least - KDJ and YJH are NOT ALLOWED to fall in love with each other.

To bind Kim Dokja from doing anything ridiculous, YJH uses a special power named "Oath of Existence", creating a contract between them both, whoever fails to fufill said contract will be burned to death by the blue flames engulfing their hearts.

AU where KDJ is a demon, YJH is a human and they were both signed up for (forced) a marriage in order to establish peace between two realms. And to do so, they need to prove to the whole world that the two beings can get along well.

I kinda like this AU, but unfortunately decided not to cook... I'll await the masterpiece if somebody decides to do it in my place...

Standing in the rain once more, he weeped. The umbrella once shared by two loving people now only left with a singular figure standing under it, grieving over the loss of one's life.

From what the hospital staff had told them, apparently, KDJ's number was set in the emergency call and they had assumed that he was a part of YJH's family.

It felt like a false dream - one that KDJ wished to wake up from. Yet, that moment never happened.

Soon enough, they became a couple - walking home together, sharing meals, hugs or possibly even embracing each other in secret every day.

At least, that was until the day that KDJ's life came tumbling down as he receives a call from a hospital, notifying him about something horrible.

Then, he found out the man's name was YJH and though ' that is... a nice name '. Before he knew it, the 'flavour' of said name became familiar on his tongue.

They exchanged life experience every now and then, getting ever so close as days pass by. Eventually, KDJ realises his feelings for the man.

At first, having a person who he didn't know offering to do such thing brought back embarrassment to KDJ. He didn't know how to react, nevertheless, still took the invitation as they happen to live in the same area.
KDJ didn't know when, but he was immersed in the conversation with this man.

He remembers that moment clear as day - such a memorable one that he couldn't bring himself to forget.
On that rainy day, he recalls having to stay back at the workplace due to heavy rain. However, there was someone kind enough to offer to share their umbrella with him.

"Don't worry, you can take your time, Joonghyuk-ah." YJH nods, sliding his wet fingers onto KDJ's boat, trying to write something using the water on the tip of his fingers. Although fading, KDJ still manages to read it - a 'thank you' written in a neat handwriting. "It's nothing." He responds.

However, KDJ notices that the creature's gaze shifted consistently from him to the nearby shore, as if wanting to say something about it but chose not to. And, respectfully, KDJ decides to not pry any further. After all, he wants YJH to be comfortable and say it for himself.

Hearing that, there was a quick flash of a hurtful look that appeared on YJH's face before it fading away, returning his stone-cold yet calm expression. The merman shook his head lightly, submerging himself into the water a little further to hide his face under the water's surface.

"Ah, I'm sorry. I didn't realise I was rambling too much." KDJ says with a sheepish smile, his ears burning red in embarrassment. "Though, it makes me curious. I've never heard you spoken even just a single word. Why's that?"
