I really liked the piece about coaching for teachers- sometimes you just need a thought partner.

That would be deeply disappointing, especially for CTE or arts credentials- the positions that come available less frequently.
I have no doubt that this program creates a solid pipeline of talent, but I question the strategic planning related to funding and positions 4 years down the road. There will be plenty of need for gen ed teachers, but how can Newark guarantee placement of more specialized certifications?
Well done! I agree with many of the points this scholar makes.
A Chicago Pope implies the existence of an MLA Pope and APA Pope
Good action steps here!
Executive orders are not laws.
I won’t share RFK Jr.’s lies about autism.
It’s disgusting and dangerous.
If he had a shred of decency, he would apologize and resign.
Autistic people contribute every day to our nation’s greatness.
To every kid with autism, I’m in this fight all the way for you.
There has got to be more to this story! So many questions: who was it from, how did it end up in your mailbox, what was it for?
Isn’t it astonishing how foundational literacy and numeracy education just got skipped? As if they weren’t important?
Planning, preparing for, and reflecting on are separate but equal parts of masterful lesson delivery that increase student achievement. Makes sense then, that if little to no time is allotted, little to no increase is found.
Good call on bringing percentiles with you! I have a colleague who brings Dear Colleague letters to meetings!
I think this could be really, really good.
I cite IES Practice Guides in nearly every PL. They do so much to inform educators on how to increase student achievement.
Good reporting here- well researched and presented!
POLLEN: that’s him right there
I spent the day learning and growing with educators from all over Delaware, all focused on creating conditions where students and staff can thrive.
Both/And?
Good news from Colorado: A U.S. District Judge ordered a school district to restore library books they banned by next week, prohibiting the district from further restrictions on access to books that the school board objects to politically.

I appreciate how you “gentle parent” in your writing!
All this fuss about something we know to be true: Maslow before Bloom. Even more interesting? Not once in any of this media coverage has anyone mentioned student achievement.
Delete the word not from that. Still having trouble with wording!
Yes, I definitely worded that strangely. I think there is a large population of schools that are not using a hodge podge of resources and calling that a curriculum. The word curriculum gets conflated with resource in a lot of places.
One thing that might help this effort is to funnel school and state data into categories like “purchased curriculum/programs” and “non-purchased-curriculum-specific resources primarily used”. I think the two get conflated easily and often.
We will see so many more instances of government agencies neglecting to cite their sources and data.
I also really appreciate that she cites her sources. She always says where she learned a technique or by whom she was inspired. I think that’s something missing from a lot of cooking/lifestyle shows.
Grocery store arrangements, inspired by Meghan!
Thank you for sharing your work! Your analysis further cements the idea that widespread phonics patching was an impulsive and ineffective action. I also agree that the quality of implementation of SOR differs greatly from school to school and district to district.
Amplifying this with the reminder that reading across multiple genres and hearing various authors and perspectives is a research-based way to increase comprehension.
