Healthcare is a basic human right.

Disabled people shouldn’t have to “prove they matter” to access care.

Failing to provide basic care to everyone only creates more sickness and disability.

You want to make a population healthier?

Give them medical care.

I keep encountering left-of-center folks who have confused rejecting oppression with rejecting discomfort.

You’re not being oppressed when asked to boycott, wear an n95, use alt text, unpack biases, be thoughtful with words, &c.

Discomfort & inconvenience are part of community, growth, & justice.

We live in a world where a man found liable for sexual assault and convicted of 34 felonies can be nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize.

He’s sent the military into the streets of LA.

He’s got ICE terrorizing & kidnapping immigrants.

He’s about to strip people of their healthcare.

Peace? No.

“You don’t need to wear a mask anymore”

“You seem anxious about Covid”

“You’re not going to get Covid here”

“Take off the mask so you can breathe easier”

“Covid is over”

Masks should be normalized in healthcare.

Instead patients have to fight for basic infection control 🧵

This is amazing, let’s go! Blue states are fighting back against Trump’s threats to withhold funding by introducing bills that give the federal government a taste of its own medicine.

If you’re working with Long Covid patients, it should be a bare minimum requirement that you wear a respirator.

These folks were disabled by Covid. They’re coming to you for help.

They shouldn’t have to risk reinfection with the virus that destroyed their health.

The “only the vulnerable are at risk” narrative was a carefully crafted PR move.

It was a comfortable lie to prop up the economy and get people back to work & spending money.

It also conditioned people to accept eugenics and fascism. To treat their fellow human being as an acceptable loss.

When someone dies of a disease like Covid or measles, the first question is often “did they have any pre-existing conditions?”

People want to blame the victim. They want to believe they were vulnerable & therefore expendable.

No one is expendable. Demand better from governments & public health.

It’s an act of radical hope, moral courage, and of true commitment to community care and collective liberation.

For anyone who wants to grow in this direction, mask blocs are a great place to start getting involved and a great place to get and give mutual aid:

Everyone who stopped taking COVID seriously fell for propaganda that wanted them to abandon science, justice, & anyone deemed undesirable.

If that’s you, commit to doing better now. Put on an n95 & follow the lead of organizers who were savvy enough to never take theirs off.

Give/get mutual aid:

Why do many disabled people urge you to wear a mask? Because we know how the system works. Viruses can disable you and once you become disabled, doctors won't listen to you, you'll have to fight to receive any assistance, and you'll get denied over and over again. We want you to mask to spare that.

Again for those in the back: THE MORE OF US WHO WEAR MASKS IN PUBLIC PLACES, THE EASIER IT IS TO NORMALIZE THEM AS A PUBLIC HEALTH TOOL.

Never forget for many people lockdowns NEVER ended. We’re still isolated - only now we’re shunned and mocked and told it’s a “choice”.

When you are trying to maintain a baseline and no one will make public spaces safe for you - it’s not a choice

We’ve been excluded & forgotten.

Wear a mask.

There are a million jokes we could make off of this basis. Should we go on tour? 😆

I’m so confused. If we all die from preventable communicable diseases and pathogens, how are the kabillionaires going to earn their money?

If the working class dies from preventable respiratory illnesses and their impacts, who will wash the cybertrucks for the oligarchs? 🪦 #oligarchy #thisisamerica

YES. Any mask is a good mask for at least one reason. Hang in there.

The passport page about changing your gender marker is now down.

I'm expecting trans people's passports to be a major battleground of this administration.

A quarter of the COVID-19 patients, especially female, suffered from voice impairment during infection, and approximately 70 % of these dysphonic patients kept experiencing long-lasting voice sequelae, which should be noticed by global physicians.

all these ✨fire aid benefit concerts✨ & not a single one—promotors or artists—talk air quality. how are you to sing when the winds kick toxic debris of full neighborhoods back into the air? when an unmasked crowd infects &disables career-making voices with SARS2?
