The fact that it's a moose wearing a red shirt is not a giveaway enough? 😂
100% this. Economics is not even scientific in nature. It's just a game of guessing and then maybe things might go a certain way. Economists make charts based on feelings and pretend to be some kinds of mega experts that everyone should revere.
Oh yeah he’s a very intelligent and accomplished economist. But those labels have been earned by fucking over the majority of people for the benefit of the wealthy. Austerity is good economic policy to these vultures.

Canada can't say that international law must be followed because we profit too much from selling weapons to armies and regimes committing crimes within their own borders and abroad.
Today I proposed banning "surveillance pricing" — a creepy practice where corporations weaponize your personal data to rip you off. Deeply disappointed the motion was rejected. Canadians are already being crushed by sky-high costs. They deserve relief, not corporate exploitation.
Today, the Liberals rejected our NDP motion to ban surveillance pricing - a dystopian practice that will drive up costs for Canadians if we allow it to take root.
The NDP is the only party fighting to protect you from getting ripped off at the checkout.

In case you weren't aware of the complicity of Canadian companies in US fascism, including staffing their concentration camps and selling them armoured vehicles to be used against their own citizens. But hey, "the economy" is all that matters now, right?

Support these folks suing UofA for its violent response to the 2024 anti-genocide encampment protest.
They’ll be going up against a big team of lawyers, just like they went up against a riot squad of violent cops.
They’re asking for you help:

The barcode tells what is being purchased. Information about who is doing the purchase is elsewhere. Think point or member cards, facial recognition, your credit card number, or even just being close to your smartphone. There are countless ways to play these kinds of tricks.

Millions of people in Sudan are surviving on just one meal a day, as the country's food crisis deepens and threatens to spread, per report published on Monday by a group of non-governmental organizations.
It would be SO funny if all the floor crossers went back to their parties yelling "Gotcha!". I'll laugh at that impossible outcome.
Canada’s care economy depends on migrant women, but our immigration system exploits them. If the workers who enable others to work cannot remain safe or healthy, the economic system they sustain becomes unstable, writes Nathania Ebegbare.
Cuba built a model of medical internationalism rooted in solidarity, not profit.
Now Washington is waging a pressure campaign to shut it down—undermining healthcare systems across the Global South just to tighten the blockade. The human cost is staggering.

She's a fascist, there aren't many options.
In all honesty, would you be willing to answer the original question that was asked? What has Carney done that has improved the lives of anyone, apart the ultra wealthy?
Sam Altman has a new plan to make money from generative AI: he wants intelligence to be treated like water or electricity — and we’ll all have to pay him for it.
His chatbots are degrading people’s ability to retain information and think critically. Now he wants to sell smarts back to us.

Thanks, this helps. It's not that I've never done it, but I find it hard to make people care about trying something different. I'll try pushing the ads and AI buttons more, as those also in my experience are the most sensitive ones right now.
They keep telling us there's no money for what Canadians need, but somehow they can always afford this. #WealthTaxNow

I had previously thought that one reason Trudeau became so unpopular was that his progressive stance turned out to be mostly performative. With their intense devotion to Carney, it's clear that, actually, Liberal partisans thought even pretending to be progressive was too much.
If anybody cares what I think, they simply realized it's too expensive to offer for free in that context and can't keep hemorrhaging money from Notepad.
We'll either see increases in Windows licences prices, or OS-wide subscriptions to keep using AI in Windows and all smaller apps in it.
Did you also help seniors or people who are tech illiterate? I find it really difficult to make people care, even if there are only advantages. How do you approach that kind of conversation?
