The president can grant a security clearance to anyone he wishes. All the way to Top Secret / SCI. Usually, it takes 12-18 months to be vetted for this level of access. Congress failed to close this loophole; that is the true shame of the past 30 years.

He also cares about ensuring that a population of 10^20 virtual beings will inhabit massive data centers in the cosmos orbiting black holes and what not in the year 20,000,000. So, respect for disregarding the value of human life in the present, I guess?

Leaders who nullify punishment for political violence weaken democracy. Hitler pardoned the Beer Hall Putsch plotters and called them patriots. Trump pardoned Capitol attackers and called it a "day of love." Dear Americans: Don't take this for granted. Resist in every way possible.

I knew he'd go through with some pardons, but not nearly all of them, and certainly not the violent offences. If this is a preview of Trump 2.0, I think everyone needs to take a shower and start making signs. It's time to hit the streets and demand Trump's immediate impeachment.

Precisely as he promised. Americans are now getting exactly what was advertised, no matter the consequences. Let's see how well this is working out for Republicans in 2026.

Now we wait to see whether Apple and Google have the balls to risk a $500 billion fine for violating the law. I know what I’d do as their general counsel: wait for a court to rule on the proposed executive order. Indeed I might proactively file a request to the Supreme Court for an emergency ruling.
