funny how vague concepts like “pivot” keep popping up in all the “AI will upend white-collar work” talk ... especially for mid-to-late career professionals, pivot to what exactly? Soylent green?
ME: yeh so writing is inherently solitary so i try to get out and socialise for my mental health. Anyway, good to chat to you again..

yeah, i thought that was almost kinda poignant.
oh man, fighting with your own lead actor in the courts - while your $22m feel-good musical is in cinemas ... uh, there's definitely such a thing as bad publicity
gotta urgent deadline today and this blank word doc I've just opened seems to be giving me the Gen Z stare

It's the classic Mel Gibson and Jesus meme where Mel is on set in normal clothes casually chatting to a very bloody Jesus (for those of you who don't know it).

the #25amendment stuff always reminds me how relatively easy it is in my country (Australia) to dump the narcissistic weirdos who inevitably end up in charge; true, we just replace them with another narcissistic weirdo, but it kinda freshens things up a bit
it's a satire, so you could be right ...
This year is going to be absolute carnage for British business. Trump's escapade in Iran – and everything that's going to spiral out of it – is going to hit the UK harder than most, because Brexit has left us exposed. It'll finish off countless firms which were already barely hanging on. 15/18
for my April #writingchallenge I will finish the first draft of my WIP before society collapses

finally saw #MartySupreme over the weekend, yeh, i think it's interesting how much his precocious, abrasive onscreen character is blurred with the 'real' Chamalet persona; i thought social media had killed this kind of good old-fashioned movie stardom, but no it's back and self-aware (maybe)
when it comes to TV reboots, we should be talking about a live action version of Bananaman - c'mon people 🧐
had a blood test earlier, went ok, I'm sorta familiar with nervously handing over something fairly personal for the judgement of an anonymous professional, then just ... waiting to see what it means, it's kinda a writer's thing, very cosy.

man, that vague-post is operating at a level of context-deficient specificity you can really feel. it’s pure insinuation that could feed a million dreams. you know the one i mean

the #Atlassian thing is a good reminder that despite what your employer's PR team might say, a corporation is never your "friend", let alone your "family" ... unless of course they mean one with similar internal politics to the Corleones
"thank you for everything you have committed to our epic story" - funny how corporate jargon designed to engender a team "culture" seems spectacularly hollow when they're giving said team the boot

watching 'If I Had Legs I'd Kick You' on International Women's Day seemed apt; its Kafkaesque representation of motherhood, where the individual is relentlessly stripped of agency while subject to intense judgement, makes it a hell of an experience especially in these callous, dehumanising times

I'm sorry, if you're going to make a big show about how you've got a Department of WAR helmed by a Secretary of WAR and staffed by WARfighters, it's totally inane to then claim that your massive bombing of a foreign country constitutes something other than a war.
had a death in the family and was almost completely off the internet for a few days & my observation is that there is too much happening too fast such that basic facts abt the world are difficult to ascertain unless you are mainlining info all the time & doing that seems to drive people insane
i know that projection and idealisation of celebrity has a lot to do with the mess the world is in right now, but screw it, i'm all in on Harrison Ford worship right now.
