Beavers in the middle of the city park! They've been eating the little trees here for the past few months and now that the cattails are drying up you can see the lodge! I'm tempted to come back at night and try to see if I can see them in action🦫🤎

Got to see them again today and this one looks like it has iridescent edged feathers on its back between the patches of red!

Oh! And these eggs are green because they have a symbiotic green algae inside that provides them oxygen! How cool is that? 🦠 💚🐸

Looks like these are northwestern salamander eggs, and the other type I found were pacific chorus frog eggs! Never seen the salamanders yet, hope I can find one there later! Apparently they're huge!

I was the easter bunny for a few hundred newts, salamanders, and frogs at the park today (put about 20 of these egg clusters back in the water since the levels are receding and they were exposed) 🥚

Saw an anecdote about the experience of wearing a costume giving someone a perspective on not being judged, and oof realizing that's part of what I didn't get from my experiences. My first one I got judged out of upgrading to look more like me, and the second was openly mocked.
