Even otherwise thoughtful people fall into this class-mistaking trap. A smart and acclaimed author headlining a recent event here in Chicago talked about someone who figured in his most recent book and "worked in finance." And then described this person as "middle class"! Not in my experience ...
I worked on a death penalty appeal once where the trial court "found" that a psychiatrist had evaluated the defendant and produced an unfavorable report (exonerating the condemned's do-nothing defense lawyer from further pursuing the issue), when in fact the shrink never saw the defendant at all.
Not only that, but state-court rubberstamping can also confabulate "facts" which are then immune from correction except as "clearly erroneous," a tough standard to meet.
I like it with four, but if you want to add a fifth, let it represent the city's resistance to "Operation Midway Blitz."

If only a real door could hit him in the real ass as he leaves.
The petition's 3d QP is "overrule Smith?," and the Ct specifically limited the grant to QPs 1 & 2 - do you figure that's because they view the 3d QP as already necessarily implicated, or bc they had to disclaim that intent to get the votes for cert?
Fantastic to hear. Congratulations, and may you enjoy many hikes to come.
"The Guns of Toblerone."
Pourquoi pas les deux?
I'm so sorry to hear this sad news.
SAND TRAPS ARE NOW BATTLEFIELDS
Looks like all they needed as motivation was to see KD extended.
composite image: photo of statute of young Abraham Lincoln superimposed on photo of Chicago's Edgewater Beach Apartments, with caption "EDGEWATER" and pink heart containing the text, "Home of SEXY Lincoln."
Anyone mistakenly inferring from my profile pic that I'm one of those Roman Statue Guys, pls note: it's the statue of Young Lincoln in Chicago's Senn Park (near our home), locally known as "Sexy Lincoln" (see attached t-shirt image I created for my wife), and I intend its use as gently self-mocking.
Who's your friend when things get rough?
He probably hasn't seen anything about the whole Iran deal.
I think you mean, "Are you obsessed with 'Standing in an Attitude of Defiance.'"
Wouldn't he have the Rooney slot, so it would be, "These stories and Viktor Orban, tonight on "60.Minutes"?
... And I can think of one stroke in particular that would be a God Damn Gift to everyone on the planet. [Wink]
Being a Person of a Certain Age, I read this as "a lot of slander of ischemic / hemorrhagic brain attacks," and I was momentarily confused. Carry on, then.
Or "Garden State Parkway" vs. "New Jersey Turnpike."
1000%. A peer turned me on to Al Stewart in 1978 and I've never looked back.

Loaves & Witches at B'way and Norwood has very good coffee and has just put out their sidewalk tables for the warmer season (or until our next 40-degree day, whichever comes first). Nice people, great vibe (and apparently a winner in the most recent Reader "Best of Chicago" poll).
I'm not keen on it (although, tbh, I have grown tired of the oval G). Also, "Glory Glory" on the banner isn't very imaginative, given other options ("Hail to Georgia," "Sic 'Em," "FTMFs," etc ). But maybe we can pirate versions with other slogans. (At least it doesn't say "Go Dawgs") (TM)
How about we all just agree to let this graph determine the draft order?

No, maybe, no, no, no, no, "Don't bother me on the golf course," and poring over maps of Cuba to pick out a beachfront villa.
