When power tries to silence you, the most radical act you can take is to record the truth.
This chalk, this timestamp, is my line in the sand.
I won’t be quiet. I won’t be scared. And I won’t stop fighting for our kids, communities, and right to speak freely in the statehouse that belongs to us.
Instead, I did the most badass thing I’ve ever done. I wrote my own timestamp — right there on the sidewalk, in front of the man who assaulted me.
I documented it. I claimed it. I made sure no one could erase what happened.
This is what resistance looks like.
On October 1st, I stood on the steps of our State Capitol to protest the closure of yet another public school. I was peacefully writing with chalk when a Capitol Police officer put his hands on me — trying to silence me, intimidate me, and make me back down.
We’ve got a lot of work ahead, but nights like this give me hope and remind me how much heart and grit our people have. It's time to take our country back! 💙

It was great to connect with so many folks who care deeply about our state’s future — teachers, veterans, small business owners, and community leaders from every corner of West Virginia.
After a long day of volunteering and campaigning across the district, I wrapped things up at the Roosevelt Kennedy Dinner with the West Virginia Democratic Party.
Finally, I attended the Roosevelt Kennedy Dinner with the WV Democratic Party, a great way to end a long, productive weekend surrounded by people who care deeply about the future of our state.
We’re out here every day, serving, organizing, & listening. Because real change starts with the people.
Saturday began with an organizing meeting alongside the amazing folks at United Women of WV, followed by an inspiring “Your Feminist Friend” open house. Networked with some amazing people, including a former State Senator, & talk about building power, protecting our rights, & lifting each other up.
It’s been a busy — and beautiful — weekend across the district! 💙
Friday, I had the honor of serving twice — first at a food drive in Man, and later that evening helping folks on the streets of Logan. Here's one thing I know for sure: no matter where I go, West Virginians show up for each other.
No one should be silenced for protesting. No one should be terrorized in their home. And no one should fear their own government.
This is our country—and it’s time we take it back.
From Chicago to Charleston, the message is the same: speak up, and they’ll try to shut you down.
But I won’t back down.
I’m running for Congress because this is the line in the sand. If we don’t defend our rights now, there won’t be any left to defend.
And this isn’t just happening in big cities.
Just days ago, I was outside our State Capitol in Charleston, peacefully protesting the closure of a public school when Capitol Police shoved me, tried to scare me into silence, and refused to even give their badge numbers.
Last week, armed federal agents rappelled from a helicopter in the middle of the night and raided a Chicago apartment building.
They went door to door, detaining U.S. citizens, and separating parents from their children—all under the cover of darkness. This is Trump’s fascist America.

But let me be clear: I will not be intimidated. I will not be silenced. My resolve is only stronger.
If anything, this moment proves exactly why we need leaders who will fight back against abuse of power, defend our freedoms, and demand a better future for West Virginia families.
This should alarm every single one of us. If it can happen to me, a candidate for Congress, it can happen to any ordinary citizen standing up for their rights.
This is unacceptable, and it raises serious questions about accountability.
All I was doing was writing messages in chalk — a long-standing, peaceful way for West Virginians to make our voices heard. Instead of respecting that right, officers responded with force and intimidation.
Yesterday, while peacefully protesting for stronger support of public education at our State Capitol, I was shoved backwards, had my phone ripped from my hand, and was threatened with arrest by a West Virginia Capitol Police officer.

I also had the honor of attending the Greenbrier County Democratic Executive Committee meeting and the No One Asked You event on reproductive health. It was a joy to see so many friends and neighbors—thank you all for the warm welcome.
Last week I spent two days traveling across our district, visiting Wyoming, Mercer, Summers, Raleigh, and Greenbrier counties. Along the way I was grateful to spend time with family, visit family property, and connect with constituents.
I’m fighting to bring Washington’s attention—and its resources—back home where they belong.
