Predicting the Next Wave: Mapping the "War" Between Viruses New research reveals how interactions between influenza, SARS-CoV-2 and RSV may shape epidemic timing and risk, improving infectious disease forecasting with spatial population data.

Do viruses “fight” each other and alter epidemics? 🦠⚔️

New research shows recent Influenza A infection may temporarily reduce susceptibility to SARS-CoV-2, and shows that accounting for these interactions can improve epidemic forecasting.

Intense sand mining is putting the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia at risk of collapse with catastrophic consequences.

Scientists have now determined the cause of this decline to be sand mining in the Mekong River in Cambodia and Vietnam.
