Damon Lindelof Reveals Why He Signed Anti-Paramount-WBD Merger Letter
"Hollywood, believe it or not, is a blue-collar town," Damon Lindelof said Monday on why he signed an anti-Paramount-WBD merger letter.
It’s so heartening to see the major players in Hollywood fighting back against this Warner/Paramount merger. With even more recent layoffs, everyone knows if this merger goes through, it will mean disaster to the industry as we know it.

This is a great thread! All of my latest pilots seem to have taken longer than the last, but I’ve noticed that by the time I’ve cracked them, I can also explain them succinctly. I’d never really made the connection before, but it makes a lot of sense!

South of Midnight - action-adventure game from Compulsion Games
Play South of Midnight game and explore the deep south mythos, confront mysterious creatures in this folktale and enjoy music inspired by the American south.
Sometimes keeping tabs open forever pays off! A game I’ve been wanting to play of over a year finally released on PlayStation a couple of weeks ago. I can’t wait to get caught up in its Southern Gothic beauty.

I’m putting it out to the world, and my friends, that I’m actively looking for representation. On top of building an indie tv studio, I’m ready to sell and ready to staff, so looking to build my team to better juggle all of the things.
I’d love recs from people who know me of people I should know.

Attention Los Angeles and SoCal denizens, there’s going to be a sonic boom between 5-5:15pm tonight from Artemis’ re-entry. Given the state of the world right now, thought y’all might appreciate a heads up. I know I did. Godspeed 🙏🏻 🚀 👨🚀

Lately, so many competitions and fellowships have gone the indirect rejection route, where people are notified they were accepted before people are notified they weren’t. I’m really not a fan, since my celebration for my friends is immediately diminished by the realization I didn’t advance.

Usually I do, too. And I go to a spot where it’s mostly locals. But coming from Burbank, I always have to plan it on days where I have most of the daytime free, so I can go after morning rush and leave before the worst of evening rush. Which is surprisingly difficult some months

I don’t know why I get more emotional seeing protests in other countries.
I guess it’s knowing people care about and want better for us. Our country is more than our government, and they see and hear us.

Palestinian teen bullied by teacher over Pledge protest wins legal settlement
Danielle Khalaf was humiliated by her teacher after she refused to stand for the Pledge. She sued. The result is a huge victory.
A 14-year-old girl knew her constitutional rights better than her teacher.
She sat during the Pledge to protest the war in Gaza.
Her teacher humiliated her, even saying "go back to your country."
She sued.
The district just paid up.

I love that I have so many friends involved in live theater in LA right now.
I’ll be going to see The Adding Machine in Culver on 2 April and Reverie in Hollywood on 17 April. Let me know if you’d like to join!

Haha, I have a lot of friends who write that way. I find that if I don’t figure it out in the beginning, I end up saying not much of anything. Which worked for Seinfeld, I guess, but I was never a fan.
Features, I can maybe get away without starting with theme, but never TV.

I definitely outline, and rarely stray from it. An early logline is more of a thematic statement. So I can go back to it quickly if I feel like I’m getting off track. Or, more importantly, it helps me have a concise answer when inevitably asked “what are you working on?” 😂 That’s the main benefit.

I can see the benefit in writing the logline first, since it forces me to know what story I’m telling, but it rarely stays the same once I’ve finished the script.
