Day 7: Free day
Promare AU? Crossover? Anyway, here are some fake screenshots that I spent way too much time making, and I hope someone else other than me enjoys this 😳
This is Why.
This is Why's phone on water.
Any questions?

lol I wasn't expecting this, but honestly feels validating XD
I do think tech companies are underestimating the amount of
- new account fatigue
- new app fatigue
- useless upgrade fatigue
- terms of service fatigue
Whether or not the two things are actually correlated, it is incredibly funny that Bluesky started experiencing near daily tech fuck ups right after the team started bragging about using vibe coding

I wish all the Hugo nominees have a great time with the experience. I'm excited for so many of them I know of - I've read several on the list and enjoyed them! I'm also taking the finalist list as a rec list and adding those I didn't already have on it to the TBR list. XD
Okay. Let's take a moment to talk about How To Be A Hugo Nominee And Come Out Of It Happy About the Honor. I realize this is relevant to like, twelve people. I don't care, those twelve people deserve my time. (You may have seen a version of this thread before. I do it every year.)

I love starting up a book and getting just enough into it to go "oh this is going to be good". Today's moment is the end of chapter 3 of A Legionnaire's Guide to Love and Peace by Emily Skrutskie. 💜
“Creativity, Writing, and Reading in the Age of AI: Survey Results”

Another episode of Witch Hat Atelier that kicks off with a beautiful attempt to breathe life into the magic that Shirahama's illustrations imply, rather than merely redrawing them to lesser effect. The match cuts between sigils and the corresponding elemental magic spirits are soooooooo good
The First WORLD FENCING LEAGUE is happening April 25th!!! I'M GEEKING!!!
Japanese engineers developed this "Sword Tip Visualisation" tracking technology specifically for this event that will make it so much easier for the average person to see what's going on!
I MUST WATCH THIS ENTIRE TOURNAMENT

Firebird/Bloodsinger - spicy, good if the summary is what you're looking for. I'm most curious for the third one - I do enjoy when books in a set like this do some switching around of the tropes for at least one of them, and the third one promises some change of pace.
Aetherbound has been sitting in my TBR for a while and I finally got to it and really liked it! I'm going to pick up the next book soon and I found myself wanting more when it got to the end. Slow start but not too slow, and always worked toward the payoff later.
Highlights:
Crash Landing and Steal a Galaxy are books 1+2 of 3 and I was looking hard for book 3 this weekend. Sadly had to order it online - I wanted to read it RIGHT THEN. If you like heists and clever women and don't mind/like sci-fi settings, you'll probably enjoy this trilogy. I for sure am!
Books I finished this past week:
- Aetherbound - E.K. Johnston
- How to Steal a Galaxy - Beth Revis
- The Hurricane Wars - Thea Guanzon
- Full Speed to a Crash Landing - Beth Revis
- Bloodsinger - Juliette Cross
- Firebird - Juliette Cross
#KesIsReading for the week of 4/20:
- A Legionnaire's Guide to Love and Peace - Emily Skrutskie
- The Spellshop - Sarah Beth Durst
- The Dragon Spirits Trilogy - L. L. Macrae
- Feeder - Patrick Weekes
- Six of Crows - Leigh Bardugo
- The House in the Cerulean Sea - T.J. Klune

Tomodachi life shadow quiz challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)
Art of Gulool Ja and Neyuni walking together as they chat in the streets of Solution 9.
art of Gulool Ja and Neyuni playing video games together. Wuk Lamat and Sphene cheers for Gulool Ja while Neyuni's sisters, Yanna and Eutrope, cheer for her. Eutrope seems confused why both the King of Resolve and the Queen of Reason is at their home, nevertheless she cheers on. Koana seems to have arrived later holding three pizza boxes, taken aback by how the atmosphere in the room has changed compared to when he left the room.
I think Neyuni and Gulool Ja would make really good friends
