Holding true to making more oc stuff this year.. for now. Wanted to practice boarding a tracking shot on a projectile and the aftermath!

Skateboarding around the city today and got my first ever “do a kickflip”shout from a stranger.

Also want to make more OC stuff!

I want to try and pursue art more freely this year. I got stuck a lot of the time last year focused on how my work would be perceived, and drawing just wasn't fun. Just going to follow my gut for a bit and see where it takes me!

...it's hard to sit there and observe first because very often they will move into a different pose... or accidently make eye contact🙃

When I draw from life, clarity/intention doesn't ever really come across because I'm just trying to block shapes and get the general idea across as quickly as possible. A 2nd redraw focusing on the intention, and using the previous sketch as ref instead, is always more clear.

Read Goodbye Eri today. Fujimoto really just does that huh - panels all the same size, cinematic ratio for the majority of the book blending together what actually happened in the story vs what the protagonist edited together as part of his film…
