The Trump administration is gutting the U.S. Forest Service. Closing research stations and offices and relocating families to Utah with no plan.
And they're doing it heading into fire season after Trump's DOGE already fired workers.
You can count on me to fight this in D.C.

Tell me again how caring about this planet is radical.
Clean air will win.
Clean water will win.
Our public lands will win.
Science will win.
Kindness will win.
Hope will win.
We will win.
This is terrible and unnecessary.
Along with @naturalresources.bsky.social I will pursue every legislative avenue to reverse this decision.
Trump is doing Big Oil’s bidding yet again – and this time he's calling it "national security." His minions voted to let oil and gas companies ignore protections for endangered species when they drill in the Gulf of Mexico.
And Gulf communities are going to pay the price for this corruption.
@rephuffman.bsky.social: "The corrupt bargain between the Trump administration and the fossil fuel industry will not stand. My Democratic colleagues and I will fight this in court & we’ll have the support of every community in America that values public integrity and a healthy environment."
Trump started a war with Iran that is driving gas prices through the roof. Now his administration is using that crisis as a pretext to hand oil companies a blank check to destroy the Gulf.
And Gulf Coast communities and wildlife will pay for it.
Gulf Coast fishing families, shrimpers, tourism operators, and coastal communities that depend on a healthy ocean are now at the mercy of an industry with a track record of greed, catastrophic spills, and zero accountability.
Sea turtles, sperm whales, sharks, rays, and corals all lose their protections under this decision.
There are 50 Rice's whales left alive on Earth. They live nowhere else but the Gulf of Mexico. The admin’s own scientists said last year drilling would drive the species to extinction.
Today, Trump's cabinet removed every protection standing between the oil industry & these animals’ deaths.
He claims protecting endangered sea creatures in the Gulf is getting in the way of "national security." No administration, Republican or Democrat, has ever tried anything this sweeping and reckless.
This is happening because Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth invoked a never-before-used loophole in the Endangered Species Act.
BREAKING: The Trump administration just voted to let Big Oil ignore every endangered species protection in the Gulf of Mexico.
In a single meeting, Trump's corrupt cabinet gave oil companies a free pass to kill endangered whales & sea turtles so they can drill without limits.

Donald Trump Jr. bought into a company. Three months later, his dad's Pentagon handed them $620 million in taxpayer dollars. Democrats forced a vote to subpoena Don Jr. today to come clean about this shady deal.
But Republicans blocked it and even shut down the hearing to protect him.
We banned lead from gasoline. From paint. From children's toys.
Republicans just voted to keep it in our wildlife refuges, killing bald eagles and over 130 species, because the gun lobby told them to.
@rephuffman.bsky.social: Our public lands belong to the American people, not the NRA.
Last August, @rephuffman.bsky.social and @markey.senate.gov urged the administration to oppose this reckless project:
“Approving Kaskida would not only endanger lives and the Gulf ecosystem — it would also set a dangerous precedent for a new era of ultra-deep, high-risk drilling in the Gulf.”
Trump has learned nothing from our disastrous forever wars in the Middle East, and now he shows he's learned nothing from Deepwater Horizon.
He's giving Big Oil a rubber stamp to drill deeper and more dangerously than ever, and Gulf communities will pay the price. /4 www.nytimes.com/2026/03/14/c...
Gulf Coast fishing families lost 25,000 jobs after Deepwater Horizon. More than a million coastal birds died. Dolphins are still washing up at elevated rates fifteen years later.
And the Trump administration looked at all of that and decided to let BP go even deeper. /3
BP's own plan admits it would take 90 to 100 days to stop a blowout at this site. Deepwater Horizon took 87 days.
A worst-case spill here could reach 4 million barrels, surpassing the worst oil spill in American history. /2
BREAKING: The Trump administration approved BP's $5 billion ultra-deepwater drilling project in the Gulf of Mexico.
This is the same company responsible for the Deepwater Horizon disaster that killed 11 workers and dumped over 3 million barrels of oil into the Gulf.

Unbelievable. Trump started an illegal war with Iran that's driving up gas prices. Now he's using that crisis to ram through an offshore pipeline California already rejected.
Yet another massive handout for his Big Oil buddies.
“…the great monuments of our Capitol City are planned and built. And most Americans want to enjoy the view of Arlington Cemetery without seeing an eyesore from a President who mocks deceased war heroes as suckers and losers." 2/

Americans are struggling to afford groceries and rent while Trump wants to build a golden vanity arch taller than the Lincoln Memorial. RM @rephuffman.bsky.social: "This is not Pyongyang. We have laws, policies and procedures. That's how… “ 1/
Americans are already drowning in bills.
Trump wants to make that even worse, locking us into dirtier air, higher energy costs, and billions in new medical expenses.
All so a handful of Big Oil CEOs who funded his campaign keep getting richer off your paycheck.
🚨 Republicans just gave Big Tech a MASSIVE handout.
@rephuffman.bsky.social: Meta and Amazon want to run cables through our Marine Sanctuaries for free, trample over all the marine life, and silence communities who depend on these waters.
And Republicans are all too willing to please.
Tribal citizens are being grabbed off the streets by Trump's masked ICE agents. Held for days or weeks while their family has no idea where they are.
A Republican's response? "There will be mistakes."

Removing a sign doesn't change what happened. It tells us what you're afraid people will learn.
Authoritarian governments that erased inconvenient history used to be something we fought against abroad. But now, the Trump administration is making sure we become one.
.@rephuffman.bsky.social: "You want to put his name on coins and buildings and park passes. You want to penalize people who cover up this shrine to Donald Trump. We take an oath to the Constitution. It seems all of you took an oath to Donald Trump."
.@fernandez.house.gov: "Is this an American mining company? It's not. It's a Chilean company. And where does that copper end up? On a boat to China."
