Then i'll order everything to control a pump and mist based on temperature and soil humidity. And it will be demo time to find early adopters.

It's now time to enter in the prototype phase for my environmental monitoring software.

Next week I should have the complete loop for temperature monitoring with a good UI.

Then 1w later i'll test to add two new sensors to the system with sensor management. I'll add the system in my greenhouse.

I've finally got my first temperature readings from my Atlas Scientific sensor. UART driver for the rapid dev loop, I2C driver (wip) for the RPI live system.

1 step closer to a working system in my greenhouse for growing plants in a controlled environment.

Atlas Scientific components with a carrier board and RTD Ezo fitting in the palm of my hand

The next step will be way more challenging but I will have less electronic components to solder.

So tiny !

And now you have deep ones to put your switch and even bigger ones for the steam deck!

I enjoy streaming however, but at this point I use more bandwidth than I bring anything to people πŸ˜‚. Most of them don't stay more than a minute because guess what: software development is **really* boring for outsiders.

Conclusion: let's just code & write

Also from what I observed, switching from gamedev only content to any kind of dev content didn't work really well. Which I understand, you start to follow a channel for a specific topic so pivoting will always make some people leave.

3 months ago 1 0 1 0

I think that content creation should happen after established products/demo. Otherwise you spend more time on making stuff to entertain people and less on the important things for your business.

Anyway, I'm not even at an important step in terms of community so better to do this now.

Because YT doesn't bring anything positive currently I'll pivot to written material on indiedevcasts.com instead. Which I enjoy more and corresponds more to my work. It's also faster. I know it's less engaging but it's not really the point here. I want to build products first.

It doesn't work well πŸ˜…. More I post content around software development and hardware and less people stay. Same for the views. Gamedev is more entertaining so retention and discovery was better.

I think I'll focus on gamedev streams while I struggle on implementing the collision grid + reactive grid. My struggle is too boring for streams.

3 months ago 2 0 0 0

Implementing a reactive grid layout with Leptos is way more complex than I imagined πŸ˜‚.

I'll need to spend quite some time on collision detection and updating the layout. Can't wait to get this done.
