@epsilonhaze.bsky.social I love this sequence of words, lol. I suspect something like that might be what's upstream of my sibling and I.

Quick question for any New York Times columnists out there: as an Iranian-American, how many "death to America"s am I allowed to say following Trump's threat to wipe Iran's civilization off the face of the earth? One? Three? An even dozen?

My wife was freaking out last night because she got this notice from Amazon Japan. Getting Amazon devices was a huge mistake on my part. DRM is a trap. I need to find a way to deDRM if it's still possible and jailbreak...
"Local man isn't Satanic except when I Sold My Soul by Mercyful Fate is playing"
There is no ceasefire in Lebanon. Israel has been bombing Lebanon non-stop since last night. If anything Israel is expanding its war on Lebanon.
You are being lied to

I always cheer on science (unless the research itself is unethical or pseudoscience), even if the regime behind it sucks. Whether US or China or whoever else.
I originally included Egypt and Turkey but removed them for hyperbole. Also, Israel seems to want to attack Turkey, so we'll see how much the US cares about that NATO ally should that particular shit hit the fan.
Map of the Arabian peninsula and the Levant with countries other than Israel, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait and Bahrain deleted.
I would love for there to be more interconnections between different parts of the world and for Americans to see SWANA as real places that matter, not just lazy stereotypes about backwardness, aridity and being at perpetual war. It's unfortunate that rich […]

When racists say "civilization" they mean other people. Trump's tweet is basically saying "this genocide will actually help the victims of it" which is the fashionable thing for genociders to say. Every element of US culture that allowed this person to remain in power is irredeemably bad, yet we […]
Is Turkey on deck to become the Middle East's new Iran? In @Jerusalem_Post, my @FDD colleague @SinanCiddi and I explain why the answer is likely yes. Turkey and Iran are not identical. But depicting Turkey as a nuisance or simply complicated only emboldens a maturing adversarial regime with a record of undermining its Western allies. Mostra traduzione ® The Jerusalem Post • @Jerusale... • 1g Opinion: Continuing to label Turkey as a reliable NATO ally is dangerous, as Ankara's ambitions erode the very alliance structures that have long sustained Western security.
If you think the world is facing these crises because of US-Israel’s war against Iran, please know that Israeli publications and politicians have been repeating the line that Turkey is next for months now
I’ll repeat again and again: if Israel is not stopped by its ‘allies’, the fires will spread
@noescapevg.com optimizing, just like anything else, takes engineering effort. High budget companies could also pivot to supporting lower spec hardware, which used to be the norm.
@noescapevg.com I think it's comforting to believe that the world has built-in self-correction mechanisms. Also, not all low-graphics games are equal and only a minority would thrive on older hardware.
i really cannot express how little real activism looks like people's stereotypes of activism. i need help with a ton of things and none of it involves being out on the street marching and/or risking arrest, knocking on people's doors, donating money, and arguing on social media
there was one […]
Last night, my kid just gave fanart she made to Stummy and I can also say as a sometimes substitute teacher that kids, even teenagers, will just give you a drawing they made as a gift. Why don’t adults do this? What the hell is wrong with us?
Anyway, my point here is - people with geeky careers, learn from the labor movement instead of thinking that you don't need it just because you'll definitely be a tech mogul someday. Don't look down on them. We make software for humans to use and how well it serves them is the real measure of […]
Developers are often asked by employers/clients to do evil things. And it's often so little that it's easy to just go along with it, because you need to pay your bills. I would hope that we can all collectively agree to not be part of the military-industrial complex, the surveillance state, etc […]
@normative.bsky.social especially for people who've dealt with malignant, delusional narcissists feeling like someone just like their abuser now controls everything.
@parkermolloy.com it feels like they’re still competencewashing him. The expletives aren’t the issue here.
@kevincarson1.bsky.social imagine if instrument makers had the same mentality as the tech industry, randomly moving frets around because the existing layout is too old-fashioned.
The one old school sort of nicety I'd personally be especially interested in getting from artists I like is a mfing Winamp skin! I still use those because I use Audacious in Winamp skin-compatible mode. Also no reason to not provide people with wallpapers/lockscreens in modern and old-school […]
What I sort of rabbit holed about is the possibility of doing DOS too. The thing is I could target win/mac/lin just fine with SDL 1.2 but I’d have to use Allegro to do MS-DOS. I guess with Allegro 4.2, I’d have access to all 4 platforms. I just wonder how well something built with that would run […]
I think I might have gotten local musicians interested in having me make CD-ROM interactive experiences for their releases.
Like I was thinking a great medium for releasing music would be audio tracks plus a data track that autoruns on mac and pc (win95 and up) with self-contained (static […]
I never heard of Stomach Book until my kid got obsessed with them. But since they're coming to town, I'm taking them to see them tomorrow night. And someone I know (K☆TRUCK) is opening for them!

@futurebird holy shit but also, not surprising if true
It's fine for a cishet man to be a crossdresser. It's not always a transphobic chaser sort of thing, though it probably is in Byron Noem's case.
There's a whole community that, like it or not, overlaps with the trans community. The history and the way non-binary amabs get erased causes labels […]
marginalized leftist: I can't bring myself to vote for the lesser of two evils
blue MAGA: WELL HAVE FUN IN THE DEATH CAMPS!
marginalized liberal: I'll vote for the lesser evil if I have to
dirtbag leftist: HAVE FUN WHEN DEMOCRATS SHOOT YOU IN THE FACE!
Both of these people suck in the same […]
@nberlat.bsky.social Any time a product falters, people blame it on whatever they're personally bothered by, when it's usually more complicated than that. I also wished people wouldn't take cheap shots at youth lib.
Fox News kept peddling misinformation about the 2020 election until they were forced to stop because their lies did material monetary damage. Maybe this can be the path to getting NYT to stop lying about trans people. No lawsuit can stop it altogether but it would help speed up the unraveling of […]
I don’t like StaceyCay and that whole clique and she was wrong about some substantive points but Piker is absolutely showing his misogynistic ass here. Typical making dudes type paragraphs shit and the leftist equivalent of when blue maga fantasizes about bad things happening to trans leftists […]
A dance remix I made of one of my old songs is available no where else but on the latest Darque Party. There are actually good reasons to tune in too, like her interview of Tiffadelic!
