Today I had a lie in to recover from late night being social, and then packed for a weekend away, and then got stung by a wasp while printing out a map and instructions for a 6 mile walk. When people said regular exercise could be sore, I didn't know they meant wasp stings.
Yesterday was busy, dentist appointment, then another ( I needed a filling and he had a cancellation that afternoon). A mad dash by car because a train was cancelled. A lovely dinner with friends, and some board games (including Poetry for Neanderthals which I'd heard good things about and was fun)
I've been sorting through old notes in the notes app on my phone, and deleting stuff I no longer need. Can't decide if the note that just says "executive function" or the one that just says "need a plan" are a) important and b) related
As well as the poached egg, this millennial also smashed an avocado this morning. I am resisting the temptation to post a photo of it on Instagram.
Just made the best poached egg I've ever made in my life. I will never recreate the heady heights of that moment. It's like the time 5 years ago that I made the best fried egg I've ever made in my life. All downhill from here now.
It's tempting to go down to the river with a flask of tea, a picnic blanket and binoculars one day when I'm not busy. I always see cool stuff when I'm walking by, imagine how much cooler stuff I'd see if I sat there for hours
Made Tarte Tatin to take to a friend's later for dinner. While I was waiting for it to cool enough to turn out, I went for a walk by the river. Nesting grebe, heron, and then to top it all off I swear I saw what looked like a kingfisher. Only ever seen one once before!
Insufficient iron to donate blood this morning, which for a Scunthorpe United fan (The Iron) is a little embarrassing. Still, it wasn't a wasted trip because I arranged to meet a friend for lunch afterwards and he set me a really lovely maths problem which I might share later once I've thought more!
Well just in case world war three breaks out, I had a long hot soak in the bath and washed my hair. So I'll smell nice and fresh in the afterlife.

Seven weeks after my ADHD diagnosis I guess it's time to update my bio to contain that extra piece of useful information about me. Although, in hindsight, it was obvious. Really obvious. Like, how the hell did they miss that for nearly 45 years obvious.

I had one of those red ones in around 1988 for my piano teacher to write which scales and pieces she wanted me to practise each week! I quit piano lessons before I filled the whole book...
I had a good long sleep and that made everything better. And according to my calendar, past me blocked out today as a recovery day, which was very kind of them!
Present me is very angry with past me. I hope nobody asks me to do anything else before the end of the month, because present me is mad enough to say yes to spite future me, just because they can't get back at past me!
Past-me was an absolute dickhead and scheduled far too much stuff this month, including challenging things that take me out of my comfort zone. Present me is lying in a dimly lit room waiting for everything to stop hurting.

Been experimenting with my colour changer on my knitting machine this morning. After numerous attempts and some swearing, I finally knitted a swatch. If I can figure out how to make larger pieces with some shaping, just think of all the exciting garments I could make!

I've been working a lot lately and I'm really knackered, so naturally this evening the washing machine decided to empty itself all over the kitchen floor. In retaliation I am going to withhold limescale remover for the next three washes. Checkmate, washing machine!
I will never stop finding this funny. And I am compelled to do some version of it every time I travel from Ely to Peterborough by train.
