My favorite addition to this comic was someone saying "hmmmmm as long as he's being responsible i guess it's fine" and me being like "if only there was some kind of slogan about power and responsibility"
I sometimes wonder how much of D&D's staying power is that it creates the opportunity for roleplaying but the design doesn't really *require* that it happen.
(I also sometimes wonder if 4E's big challenge was that it failed to obscure this well enough)
Well, this got even BETTER.
I am participating and none of my panels require the lottery (links to come). Flights is a wonderful free convention— follow them and find out more.
Wins for Oppenheimer and Godzilla Minus One mean this is the first time a movie and its sequel both won Oscars the same year.
Absolutely nobody asked for this but I reformatted my animal yeetability thread into printable poster & zine files.

🎄 BOOSTER THREAD FOR MAKERS 🎄
Every year on X I did a thread to boost people making cool things that might make good Xmas pressies.
If you create things, reply with:
- description

And I will boost you.

A screenshot of a tweet from San Antonio’s local newspaper, The Express News (@ExpressNews). The text reads, “Sen. Rafael Edward Cruz, who uses the preferred name Ted, has introduced a bill to limit the use of preferred names and pronouns.” Below the text is a link card featuring a photo of the aforementioned Cancun-loving demagogue, holding a microphone up to his undeniably punchable face.
+1 for The San Antonio Express News lmao
Some of my oldest dear friends are people I know through Amber Diceless.
In the world of D&D there is every incentive for human criminals to blame their crimes on dangerous monsters everyone knows exist, even going as far as making elaborate costumes and using magic.
What I’m saying is that Scooby Doo is a perfectly viable and underused campaign concept.
Every time someone posts a picture of a celebrity with the assumption that everyone knows who that is because their brains are good with faces and they have Netflix, those of us who aren't and don't turn to alt text.

This sums up most of my work over the last decade or so. Walker Ashley (NIU) and myself have been working on the tornado issue in the Mid-South.
The problem is dynamic, multifaceted, and not easy to solve. This graphic helps explain the multitude of factors that overlap to create tornado disaster.
Relative: "I didn't realize your new book has sex with monsters in it!"
Me: "...look at the cover! There's a tentacle on her boob!!"

I am sitting
in the morning
in a lone and
level desert
there are two legs
vast and trunkless
and a visage
shattered half-sunk
and the pedestal beside it
reads “my name is Ozymandias
I’m the king of kings and you shall
look on my works and despair”
Let me tell you from having worked accident investigations with a forensic specialist that more than one brand of car copies your entire text message history in its storage.
All of it.

The names of months they came up with after the French revolution are just undoubtedly better than ours.
Happy Fructidor! It's almost time for the month of Vintage.
