I've been off for awhile as I initiated retirement and moved across the country. Hope to be active again soon.

People need to stop wasting time and energy calling for the use of the 25th amendment. It's not going to happen. Resistance needs to be effective and realistic (at least moderately). That isn't. Full stop.
No going back on Greenland?? How in the heck is that supposed to work?? Surely that's not a hill that even our current legislature will allow people to die on?
MLK Day this year should serve as a beacon of inspiration for use to recapture the original meaning and intent of civil rights. The current administration is bastardizing it and weaponizing it against those it was meant to protect. We all need to be active in a new Civil Rights Movement.
Not entirely. After all, there's still clear and present resistance. Greenland will be the Rubicon. I'm holding my breath...
No crossed yet, but very close. We were at our best, at least internationally, in the decades after WWII. I, at least, will do what I can to see that this moment passes and we all heal again.
I refuse to take responsibility for all of this. "We" did not hand that power to Trump--a sliver of the electorate did. In addition, this has been a long time coming and empowered by a stacked Supreme Court thanks largely to Mconnell. We continue to resist.
Understood, but there's still some hope if we stand up. I find it hard to believe that every Republican lawmaker is okay with us betraying our founding principles on the eve of our anniversary.
Dear Republican Congressional members,
What will it take for you to stand up for America against our out of control president? Do you want us to be a pariah in the free world? We're fast heading that way.
What they are doing with immigrants is absolutely unconscionable. When are we going to stop it? This is all at Stephen Miller's feet. He's both unelected and unconfirmed. Not to mention how much money all of this is costing.
Fox News has put together an article claiming that a secret Venezuelan cell in the U.S. has been working for years to drum up opposition to Trump, including through ostensibly progressive organizations. I worry that this will jump start attacks on all forms of organized protest.

Regarding all the hoopla about the Confederate statues that were removed and the claim that this is "erasing history." A statue is not about recording history. It's about celebrating/honoring the person or ideal embodied by the statue. I don't know why folks don't understand this.
This needs to be publicized everywhere as the 21st century Mi Lai. They don't even have the justification of guerilla warfare and the toll it takes.
But they won't. They'll just use it to tar the "far left."
It's Fetterman. He'll end up leaving the Party.
It's out there. He can only remove it from NPS sites. Even if he could remove it from every place it's been published, it would remain seared in the memory of anyone who's seen it.
All Trump knows how to do is to extort and punish. That's his go to every time.
So cute!
I'm heading back to my home state in time to help elect Roy Cooper. Can't wait!
At least he's not gaining their loyalty. That's when things get really dangerous.

It boggles the mind that people could support making opposition to fascism against the law, particularly when Antifa has never planted bombs, or taken credit for any violent act. Of course, an Executive Order is not law. We need to remember that all the time.
This Supreme Court has much to answer for. Their betrayal of our Constitution is worse, I think, than what Congress has done (or rather, not done).
Absolutely. He was both overindulged and underloved. A very toxic combination.
Yeah, my roots on my Mom's side are thoroughly Virginia/North Carolina/Maryland. They never left. Of course, not all southern families were slave owners in the 18th century, but many were. In my case, even my Quaker ancestors often were also enslavers.
He has always hated being laughed at, even as a boy. Now he has the power to strike back.
This man is absurd. Full stop.
This is very bad. I think the current Supremes have emboldened this administration to act in any way they want. At some point, something's got to give.
They are clearly out of control, at least some of them are. There's one in particular who seems to relish the violence more than the others. I suspect he's a new recruit.
