We had a reoccurring undead peddler named Mr bones who I'd roll what he was selling off this table too.
I had him in every encounter table so there'd be some comedic instances of him showing up multiple times in a row during their travels. We had a good laugh when it happened like 4 times in a row

Oh nice yeah this is basically how I ran them as well. They were just imbued to different types of gear based on the roll. I had no gauge on how expensive it would be so I eye-balled it with how much currency the loot table was handing out.
Those were the ones!
Random loot tables would be awesome. For all the mundane stuff but potentially some imbued gear too
I did my own up for the game I ran over last year. It was used a lot as I was running a more West Marches style game.
I posted my tables in the discord a while back, I'm curious if they'd be helpful
They did a great job with that feeling. The gameplay and visuals mesh so well together on that front.
This looks right up my alley thank you for pointing me at this! Gonna check it out later for sure.
I notice most of my players don't interact much with crafting in our RPGs. Though I have 1 player in BREAK right now is actually proposing items to make with reagents they've discovered so that's been fun.
Not sure if it's just due to complexity of most crafting systems or lack of interest
Really good read. I'm very interested where you'll take it. Heart was definitely one of the best games I ran last year and my players loved it as well.
Not to mention they just shuttered a studio in Halifax suspiciously around the same time they successfully unionized.
Is there a new release getting dogpiled now?
It is very true though
Sequels can both have changed too much and changed too little at the same time. People lose their minds over just the inclusion of QoL features.
Is this resin too? Or real rocks?
I spent nearly 90 Canadian dollars on the Cipher kickstarter book shipping. I think I originally only pledged 60 for the book.
It was a bit of a shocker, to spend more than twice as much as if I just picked it up at a local store instead
5 - 10$ I think. Depends how nice the paper they're printed on is
I'd probably spend more on a bundle of them though. Shipping costs would be a limiting factor for me. I wouldn't want to spend just as much in shipping as the thing costs itself, but I know you don't have a lot of control over that.
Ah yeah ok. How closely do you follow tracking distances in combat? Watching through CRs age of umbra I see Matt using a ruler stick with different measurements on it. The wargamer in me likes the idea but as GM of other games with more abstract distances I think It could be too finicky.
Do you mean like tracking player and NPC stats on cards? Or to lay out small index card maps?
Hey I've found so many new games right up my alley I likely wouldn't have found without your recommendation. So thank you ! :)
Oh damn sorry! I only heard the story in passing really. What the hell happened?
What was the system that the cancelled unofficial Warframe RPG was using? I seem to remember some story around people getting mad at it or something
Manborg by the same crew is also fantastic
We're running into the same problem with my buddy's really nice docks setup he made. Looks so nice but we would never dare send our guys anywhere near it since falling in the water is certain death. We gotta house rule it or something
I hope they keep it slower. This was one of the main reasons for continuing to support Path of Exile 1. If players weren't a fan of the slower game the first one still exists where you can blow up your screen with special effects every half second
That's kind of how I felt as well. Too many walls that could only be solved by losing runs and leveling up permanently.
Have you seen any prints using matte style filaments? Or printed with smaller nozzles/layer heights? I haven't actually had the opportunity for that yet but I hear they make a noticeable improvement
I dunno about you but I'm not usually looking at the terrain from closer than 1 foot. I get that you can see layer lines if you look close enough but PLA printed terrain has really expanded my capability in fully loading a table with good enough looking stuff for minimal effort and cost.
How do most solo games stack up when trying to run something co-op? Because I'm usually the GM in most games I sometimes wonder if I could also be a player at the same time and bring in everyone else as co-GMs. I know ironsworn supports this pretty well but how about others?
I've had so much fun making games with my friends. And after it all it's cool that we can point to 9 different genres of games we've made with the same main character and wacky storyline.
Hell we even met up with a fellow LD game dev and fan of our games at PAX one year. It's such a cool community.
In Caves of Qud you can find Important insights in the trash like
A friend of mine actually did write an RPG heavily inspired by Gamma World and Caves of Qud. Using the Shadowdark rules system. It was a good time

How have the sales been for the 1.0 release? I'd have figured everyone who's heard of qud would've already had it by now. It's like the most universally praised roguelike out there :)
