Even if the token thing works, its a bandaid for a bigger issue. We still need to fight and keep pressure on the payment processors and credit card companies.

Still, I'm not painting them as the good guys in this scenario either or anything. Everything is still super up in the air right now, we'll have to see where everything lands.

At the very least SubStar seems to be attempting to do something, /anything/ in ways not a lot of other nsfw sites are doing right now besides just rolling over, licking pay-pro's boots and then throwing their hands up as their site hemorrhages users, even if their attempt is seemingly misguided.

I'll really need to look into this token thing SubStar is introducing. If its crypto-based that has me feeling uneasy due to crypto's effect on tech prices and the environment, etc. But admittedly I don't know much about crypto beyond that.

Its been a fun experiment both on Patreon and SubStar these short few years, but I just had bad luck, hopping onto both too late. Best time for me to have started a nsfw Patreon would've been in those heyday 2010s when I was still only on Tumblr, but then the rug being pulled would've hurt way more

If that happens, the bulk of my nsfw art stuff including the ongoing comic will go back to being posted way more frequently on here & over on Newgrounds; tbh I draw it more for the love of the game anyway but the extra income was nice. Also I can still do nsfw comms if need be when they're open.

So SubscribeStar quietly updated their terms very recently, with Patreon-level restrictions on what can be posted now, removing the main point people even had to choose them over Patreon, as Patreon has the larger userbase and easier payment system. Considering turning it into just a tip jar soon.
