This weekend I was round at James's and forgot about the local elections because we aren't having them (but James's council is) so I warned him about a suspicious man in an orange jacket hanging round the house typing info into an iPad, who turned out to be... a Lib Dem.

Unfortunately I can't do any work today if I'm not listening on repeat to that one worship song from The Testament of Ann Lee, a film I have not seen.

I suspect when at some point I have money I need to lock away for longer I will have to fight my own brain on this and I think lots of British people are just like this temperamentally!

My proper savings are for a house deposit so I have no dog in this fight atm except that my work pension is in stocks and shares and I just absolutely refuse to look at the values unless I have to because I don't have the temperament for anything else.

Yeah I don't think it will convince any more people to take out a stocks and shares ISA as opposed to just letting themselves pay tax on some interest or buying premium bonds or something. Pretty sure I read something from someone high up at an investor platform saying this (?)

Need to explain to Penny and my dad that the "dad and the cat he didn't initially want" dynamic is getting stale and they need to find some fresh material.
