Flu killed more in 1918-19 than died in the entire Great War.
Saves the Chinese cooking up COVID for germ warfare* when they can just wait for the US troops to get the flu.
*They didn't

Oh no not this again.

As EU has made clear many times:
The date of any members joining EURO is left UP TO EACH MEMBER STATE.

This is both good politics and technically logical.
Fight the SM/rejoin battle now.

The Euro will not be joined till we are back in.
One battle at a time.

It is a really good point: 0 countries have indeed left it and no one wants out. On the contrary member states have sought to join it as early as they can. I would support joining the euro.

20 countries have successfully adopted the Euro currency and currently benefit from it.

0 countries have left it and 0 have campaigns to leave it. The currency enjoys majority support in every country that adopted it.

It has proven its success over and over again! #RejoinEU

Shabana Mahmood swears at ‘white liberal’ hecklers over Reform remarks Home secretary accuses protesters of trying to ‘delegitimise’ concerns people have over immigration

Unbelievable bullshit from Mahmood here. 😡😡😡 She's proposing truly cruel, hostile policies against foreigners – equal to the hardest Tory policies or worse – and then she has the gall to play the racism card against those progressives who call her out on it! It's MAGA scale hypocrisy!

Others face charges under the Computer Misuse Act and Criminal Law Act.

It seems Labour investigated then referred it to police, standing down from the election.

They never say what these “legitimate concerns are”.

When they open the mouth they say something about public services being overwhelmed.

But then immigrants, unlike locals, are net contributors to the state budget.

7 hours ago 1 1 1 0

The thing is, there are also "legitimate concerns" about her policies pandering to racists. Biden had one job, to stop Trump's second term. He failed. Labour's job is stop a Reform led government. They're doing the opposite.

Is it our politics that is performative? Or the media making a soap out of it.

Ghastly TV programmes, appallingly scripted, full of stereotypes and journeyperson actors going through the motions

The Mandelson affair, obv. I’m dreading the upcoming drama in H of C, as everyone parades faux outrage. The appointment was a complete cock-up. No-one emerges well. It’s possible rules were followed, AND bad decisions taken, AND this is not the end of all days. I dread Badenoch’s posturing most.

British politics is spiraling down the plug hole. Was it Brexit? The factors leading to Brexit? The charlatans entering politics? The foreign money? The shallow media, who love to hype drama? Junk tv? All I know is that the UK no longer looks like a serious country.

Is the Home Secretary's hypothesis that Yvette Cooper wouldn't be criticised if tabled the same asylum/settlement reforms?!

The personal characteristics of Nigel Farage/Zia Yusuf, Chris Philp/Kemi Badenoch, Shabana Mahmood/Starmer seem v marginal to who supports/opposes their immigration plans!

Businessmaxxing: the (many) sectors where London rules the world Finance! Fashion! Filmmaking! And a whole lot more — the capital leads the globe in countless commercial fields, from the ancient to the cutting-edge, writes Jonathan Prynn

Useful antidote to the endless rubbish talked about the place. Basically, London excels at excelling in more sectors than anywhere else.

Like all true scandals, the more you find out, the more questions you have. Why? Because the initial decision to even consider Mandelson for the job was deeply flawed. So whose idea was it to put Mandelson in Washington? Starmers? McSweeney's? Mandelson's? Glasman's? Trump's?

Migrants rush to apply under Spain’s new mass legalization program Spain has launched a mass legalization measure for migrants, allowing them to apply in-person for legal status.

This scheme offers immigrants without legal status a one-year, renewable residence permit if they have lived in the country for five months and have a clean criminal record. They have until the end of June to apply.

This will be the 7th time Spain has done this since 1986.
