I was supposed to have my new video out yesterday but have been fighting copyright issues on it with each test upload I do for over a day now. Dealing with these issues has unfortunately in my case become way more frequent in the last year which has been frustrating.

Actually I heard that going into it also, and maybe in my mind I built it up to expect more, but I actually wouldn’t call this an overly violent film for the most part. Most of the gore that is there is just for shock purposes though

Yeah it’s got a lot of that in there also, it’s sort of like if Bring Her Back wasn’t able to sell you on the parents actually being upset about any of this at all lol

That Evil Dead Burn trailer that plays before it was fucking great though.

Also wears its inspirations a little too heavily for me. Mainly Exorcist 1 and 3, The Fly, Evil Dead, and The Autopsy of Jane Doe. The whole movie just constantly kept reminding me of the best scenes in better movies.

I wish I loved The Mummy more. Some good in there, but ultimately a worse Evil Dead than his actual Evil Dead. It’s very cold in a way that makes the whole thing lack the human element that made that one great.

I had to take a break because I got covid so it took me a while to read it, but I finished Cabal and I think it’s my favorite Barker work. I really wish he had followed up on this with another entry into this world exploring the implications of the ending, fantastic book.

I had some really good used bookstore finds this week

No we’ve finally got a script nailed down and essentially finalized. It takes place in one town but all over the one town. Large cast, 65 speaking parts. So it’s a lot to handle but I’m breaking it into several short films to make it easier. Like it’s a bunch of smaller projects.

I’m currently working on a production schedule for shooting the rest of this movie which I’m going to be doing over the course of the next year, and am kicking myself now for having nearly 60 different locations in this thing.

I was watching In Praise Of Shadow's video on the Devil's Rejects and him interrupting his own analysis to say that Bill Mosely is hot hit me like a truck in the best way possible. 🤣

lol yeah I can do that, I’ll add it to the list. Also Moseley really is hot in that movie lol that one and Prisoners of the Ghostland are the best he’s looked

Desperate Living getting a restoration makes me really happy to see. Criminally overlooked movie in Water’s filmography (and one of his best) because it’s simply always just been kind of difficult to watch. Love that they are doing this.

Yeah it’s super frustrating to be honest and is one of the things that has made me want to move away from the platform for a long time now. I really enjoy the process of making videos, but in a lot of ways I feel too contained there in what I want to do.

Tbh I highly doubt that they would want me, and where I’m at right now and where I’m trying to take the direction of what I do I don’t know if it would be a great fit for me right now anyways. But those folks are cool and they do great stuff

This scene is also why that video isn’t allowed on the platform anymore even after repeals, I’m to the point of just cutting that section out and having it be a few minutes shorter.

YouTube’s content system is so goofy and broken, this email is because of me talking about a character in a movie that commits suicide in a video from a year and a half ago.

Yeah! The game definitely has some rough edges to it but I really loved it overall and thought it was a very unique experience that I’m still quite fond of. I’d love to see RE experiment with it at least once. I’m sad that a 3rd Evil Within is almost certainly never going to happen.

I didn’t say it in the video itself, but yesterday’s video is actually the first part of a two parter that I’m doing that are both centered around bad things that happened to Andy Warhol. I’ll be shooting the second one pretty soon and it should be around in a couple weeks.
