We are elated to share that our Miguel Anaya has been featured in Químicos del Sur as one of the young researchers awarded in the 2024 edition of the Real Maestranza de Caballería de Sevilla and Real Academia Sevillana de Ciencias Awards.
We are very happy to share that earlier this year, Victoria Esteso accepted a position as Assistant Professor at the @uclm.es (Albacete). We are looking forward to all the great things she will accomplish in this new stage of her career and are excited to keep collaborating!

Today we say goodbye (for now 😉) to the @diamondlightsource.bsky.social . Over the past six weeks, our own Guada has been working closely with the I141 beamline team, developing advanced algorithms for synchrotron data analysis and reconstruction.

📢We are pleased to share that our group has been awarded a Proof of Concept project, PORETECTION. This project will shape a significant part of our work over the next two years. It will also open up opportunities for new investigation lines and collaborations.
We thank the ICMM team for their support and collaboration, in particular to Carlos Pecharroman and Sol Carretero.
During her visit, she carried out in-depth characterization of her samples, enabling a more comprehensive understanding of the structural and optical properties of her novel materials. An exciting step forward for her PhD thesis!

During the conference, Jaime presented his work showcasing how artificial intelligence can be used to design complex photonic structures through generative models.
Last week our own Sol Carretero and Jaime Bueno attended #NanoLight2026, where they were joined by colleagues from the nanophotonics community for several days of engaging discussions and new ideas.

Engaging with young students, breaking stereotypes, and making science visible and accessible is not just outreach, it is a responsibility. Inspiring future scientists and scientists-to-be is one of the most meaningful parts of our work.
It was especially rewarding to see the students’ curiosity and enthusiasm during the hands-on experiments we carried out together.
We spoke about our research, answered thoughtful (and sometimes challenging!) questions about what it means to work in science, and discussed the crucial role that women have played throughout the history of scientific discovery.
Last February 11th, to celebrate the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, part of our team visited IES Luca de Tena and IES Llanes to share our passion for science with the next generation.
