In light of our AI authorship themed issue, my editorial board reviewed our journal's policies for submission, peer review, AND editorial work, and decided unanimously on an anti-AI stance. Very happy to not be contributing to the enshittification of academic journal publishing.
I was just going to say this looks like Nashville!!!
My place of work taking over the Biodiversity Heritage Library from the Smithsonian due to why I can only assume is the presence of the word “diversity” in the title is sooooo funny
We talk a lot about getting people to consume historical content or to pick up employable “skills” for other uses
We talk a little about alt-ac, as an excuse for keeping grad programs going
We don’t talk about the fact that soon, nobody is going to be around to produce new knowledge in our fields
It's a themed issue about AI authorship, and I'm so happy with the contributions. You can read my editorial here: serials.atla.com/theolib/arti...
Very pleased to announce the publication of Theological Librarianship's spring issue!

Two text messages I sent this morning, saying “Should I quit my job” and “I don’t like this anymore I don’t want to be here”
Happy National Library Workers Day lol
Thanks! I see that and I'll pass it along.
"when do you draw the line" is so good lmao
Annnnnnd we use it to connect artwork to the lectionary readings each week on our RCL website lectionary.library.vanderbilt.edu
FYI this is all Creative Commons-licensed artwork you can use with attribution in bulletins, PowerPoints, webpages, syllabi, whatever. And you can search by Bible verse, liturgical season, or subject
My feedback is why is it in dark mode

From text message to executive order The rush to change the government’s stance on the substances, described by officials and advocates, offers a window into the top-down policymaking under Trump. Trump said he was called by Rogan and people who had taken psychedelics, who joined him at the signing ceremony, about the need to open access to the drugs. Rogan said he texted Trump about research around ibogaine, and the president’s response was quick: “Sounds great. Do you want FDA approval? Let’s do it.”
Expanding access to psychedelics for mental health seems like a good thing, but I gotta say I am not wild about this process.

Literally saying "Jews control the media" lmao jfc
At its core, the political economy of scholarship was never supposed to rely on ~$50k from a smelting fortune. Institutions have hollowed out their support, the feds have done the same, and all that's left is inadequate private funding.
So true. I've been incredibly lucky with supervisors my whole career. ❤️
I also spent an hour yapping with my boss about the fucked up state of higher education and how on earth I'm supposed to keep doing this for 30 more years, but that's neither here nor there 😅
The Div School admissions team brought me flowers for my work anniversary 😭😭😭😭 I’ve been here for 13 years which is SO long and so good and I am so lucky and grateful.
I’m pretty sure they meant “couch potato” but I just saw someone that said “potato coach” and I am WHEEZING
It has been a very fun 24 hours to be a Christian theology person
