Looking forward to it. Thanks
I just imported all my library in from goodreads and there are some missing covers or missing/mismatched versions of books.
@popfeed.social Can I add versions of a book, or details like covers etc for the ones that are missing those information?
The AI race is absolutely just the most net negative for everything. I hope it were different but we are already in a new world..

I really hope it is in europe next year. I missed this one so much
Ohhh, finally. Good stuff. Still have to check it on the laptop and maybe actually write something. But so far all good on the iphone mini…
AI running on full autonomy deciding who to kill was also not on my list of things to expect this year

A more life heavy update than a work one. Appreciate you reading and or sharing/subscribing.

Yes, the post looks serious, but there is also cute kitty towards the end of it. You’ll have to open to see it. You just have to
I posted a short story on my new publication Sandooq. It was first written in 2017.
I plan to move all my previous stories to this blog and write new ones here as well
My wife recently got Kobo Libra colour and she is in love with it.
You can bring your own epub, etc; has much more text / style customisations than our old Kindle. Has pen support but she hasn’t tried that so can’t say.
The build quality is nice, with the tactile buttons. Has decent backlit screen
This is a radically different idea than the advocacy I’ve seen for “data portability” and ”data sovereignty”. It’s a *restructuring* of power rather than small adjustments to existing structures.
atproto and local-first, both in their own ways, demonstrate what such a restructuring can look like.
I ~want~ need to build something on here. I just do, it itches

An enjoyable read, as ever. I was wondering half-way through about ‘jump-none’ as well, but sure enough, there was explanation. Very nice!
A whitebaord, defining four areas of work. 1. Interesting and important - for humans only 2. Interesting but not important - human leads 3. Not interesting but important - AI leads 3. Not interesting and not important - for AI completely
I talk briefly about what should engineers do in a team, vs what should AI do. Plus a few interesting articles

A brain-fog week, but the newsletter must go out, so here we are :)

Not saying it is as hard as trying to find a job, but it sucks when you have to start all over again trying to find the right candidate for your team.
I write briefly about this, in this week’s newsletter.

@pagebound.bsky.social seems like the answer to this thought i had so many times but never actually searched for ‘what if goodreads, but in the ATmosphere’
Another week, another newsletter

In which I talk about cool planes and the Linotype printing machine

Is it just my setup with react native, every time i touch any project that i haven’t run in 3-4 months, I just doesn’t run without me having to spend 30 mins - 2 hours debugging and resolving weird issues that weren’t there the last time. Even with expo. Makes me think if I should just try flutter.
To come back to writing and to ‘write more to think better’, I started a weekly newsletter. Do give it a read.

In the same breath, I find AI (copilot) written readme in codebases equally revolting. We’re hiring these days, and it makes me angry to see interviewee submitting an assignment with AI readme or the PR description. I value their effort/time, but a short self written description is far better
