Picture of a tv in a living room with the MLB app waiting for a baseball game to start. Through an open door next to the tv you can see a dining table and some chairs in the background.
Watching US baseball from Europe I need to know if anyone ever made like a real song from that little beat on the #MLB app when you’re waiting for the broadcast to start 😆 “Dum, dum, dum - dumdum” 💃🏻 It’s catchy 🤷🏻♀️ #eventabouttostart #springtraining #baseball

Graphic with a pink-to-red gradient background titled “Switch to Europe” with an EU flag. It lists U.S.-based digital services alongside European alternatives, shown with arrows pointing right: AWS to Gcore, Google to Ecosia, Mailchimp to Brevo, Twitter to Mastodon, and Instagram to Monnett. Each service is represented by its logo. The Monnett logo appears at the top left and again next to Instagram’s replacement. At the bottom, the text reads: “Europe’s digital sovereignty starts here.”

Exactly! I don’t speak Spanish (my foreign languages in school were English, German and French). But I still felt every emotion and heartache in my soul when Ricky Martin sang part of that Bad Bunny song about Hawaii/PR - and looking up the lyrics and their meaning afterwards just confirmed it 💔😭

a group of people standing on a stage in front of a screen that says www.bandicam.com on it
ALT: a group of people standing on a stage in front of a screen that says www.bandicam.com on it
All this nonsense about “not understanding the lyrics” of Bad Bunny’s halftime show made me think that all those MAGA snowflakes obviously didn’t grow up jamming to Eurovision bangers they didn’t know the language to - and it shows 🤷🏻♀️ #badbunny #superbowlLX #eurovision #music

My thought exactly! I mean, has he been to Alcatraz?! 😆 I visited it as a tourist 15-20 years ago, it’ll take a bit a work! 🙄

I feel kinda weird for knowing this but the girl who won is from Denmark 🇩🇰😆🤷🏻♀️ Saw it on a Danish news program for children that me and my kids watch (honestly a lot more wholesome than anything adult news programs report these days).

Definitely agree - it was interesting being expats in the US and I loved being abroad as a family sharing that experience but I am so grateful to be a European citizen and have our kids grow up back here 💯🇪🇺🇩🇰

This!! We’re Danish but lived in the US as expats a few years ago. Adding up all the different kind of taxes in the US combined with all the other stuff we had to pay for separately left us with less disposable income than ever 🤯 The US wages were higher than in Denmark but we had never been poorer!

Have you tried reaching out to Hans Island? I suspect Denmark and Canada who share this island will be very forthcoming and sympathetic to the penguin cause 🇩🇰🇨🇦😁

I read an article about this earlier today. It also specifically mentioned soybeans which we apparently import *a lot of* from Louisiana, but the article said it was a product that we in the EU can easily get from other countries. Tobacco and sugar were also mentioned.

That’s what a lot of us are telling ourselves here in Europe too - Putin in our backyard and the US no longer an ally but at least we aren’t Americans 🤷🏻♀️

I just finished it and I’m in awe. It’s so fascinating how it balances delicately between poetic and unbearable. All the parallels to current events are definitely scary but I really like the main character’s perspective. I definitely want to read the sequel. Did you read the next one too?

I’m only a few chapters in but it’s already quite eerie. I’m readying a translation in my own language so I don’t know if this quote is completely accurate in English but I almost gasped at this part: “The Secretary of Space doesn’t need to know anything about science, only politics” 👀

An image shows two firefighters with shovels on top of a torn-down building. One is overlayed in yellow, the other in blue. The words "United in diversity" are at the top left corner, and the European Commission logo is in the bottom right corner.
There is no space for racism in the EU.
No one should be denied a job, home, or opportunity because of their race or ethnic background.
On International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination and every day, the EU stands united against racism, for a #UnionOfEquality.

That is funny 😆 But I also remember hearing that there are a lot of different types of readers - and especially “mood readers” are more like to be reading multiple books at the same time because they are looking for something to match their mood at that moment. Whatever works, I guess ❤️📚

Haha, most of the time yes 🙈 Sometimes I’ll have an audio book for my commute to work and a paper book at home but I rarely juggle more than that 😆

Came to say the exact same thing 💯 Actual sentences and the resemblance of empathy combined with no use of CAPS gives it away.

Is it Polish soldiers or Ukrainian soldiers he will be training? As a European I know I have read news stories about how some of the equipment we are providing for Ukraine is different from what they have so our soldiers also train theirs - and this training also takes place outside Ukraine.

I actually chatted with an employee at one of the stores today and they did mention that there is a similar “Danish product” sign coming too. So specifically Danish products will be recognizable as well as just European products in general.

Agree 😁 But it’s not just food - some of the bigger stores carry a lot of other products as well (more like the selection in a store like Target). I only needed a few things so I didn’t go through the entire store but I also saw the stars in the aisle with beauty products and personal hygiene.

Bread aisle in a Danish grocery store. Little stars next to the price indicate that the item is from Europe.
💯 true, sincerely a European 🇪🇺 Yesterday a number of Danish grocery stores started clearly marking products from Europe with a little star next to the price. Here is a picture I took while shopping yesterday.
