StS inspired a lot of deckbuilders and there's a huge amount of them now, so some people are comparing StS 2 to all the games that have released since. StS 2 seems very much for people who really really enjoyed StS and mostly want more of that. I don't think it's as groundbreaking as StS was.

In no immediate rush to pick up Slay the Spire 2 as I'd rather wait until it leaves early access and gets the majority of its balancing ironed out.

Surprised recent Steam reviews are mixed, but I guess that's the doubled edged sword of a really popular game walking a fine line going early access.

The biggest challenge with owning an android gaming handheld capable of emulating so much is not cramming as many games as possible and spending an inordinate amount of time seeing what you can run on it.

I need to try getting back into Go. I wanted something different to wrap my head around to Chess and I thought it'd be an interesting change of pace but I really sucked at it. Very different sort of game to wrap your head around.

This is a valid point: whenever you see this sort of high-pressure sales tactic turned on a technology, you can be CERTAIN that it's a fake—actually useful new tech sells itself!

All winlator configurations, game files and settings meticulously spreadsheeted and documented. Completely re-installed the latest version of Winlator and created a template container all fully configured for cloning as needed. Only one game tested so far but running smoothly. 15 to go.

I'm aware of it yeah. Behind the scenes it does a lot of the same stuff Winlator does but simplifies it. I like Winlator because it allows me to create shared or separate containers if I need to do custom stuff for specific games. I'm keeping an eye on it as it develops further for sure though.

Thankfully I only have to reinstall one game I think. The rest are portable or I need to reimport some registry entries to have them run properly. It's just TEDIOUS.

Borked my installation of Winlator on my android handheld and to fix it I need to manually reinstall 20 or so games, including custom configs and in some cases mods. I'm having to compile a spreadsheet to get everything set up again. I'm going to become the Joker. I aint doing this shit ever again.

Unfortunately a lot of people have the same sentiment, and you kind of need enough consensus of people to agree to move somewhere for it to be viable. I think I've probably got way less mutual on there than I even have on here, but maybe that'll change in future who knows.

The problem with Mastadon is that its infrastructure is a confusing mess and it's the reason I picked Bluesky over Mastadon in the first place, but the way this site's headed I'm going to have to be mindful in future that perhaps this place isn't a least worst Twitter alterative.

Android is pissing me off at the moment. Because of stupid scoped storage I'm having to run a bunch of commands through ADB on my PC to instrospect an app's data that's causing me issues. Why the fuck can't I just access an app's data folder on my own device? IT'S MY DEVICE.
